So we've built and ridden on a few sliders at my cabin. We normally to with a 16 ft lund fishing boat with a 40 hp tiller on it. The problem seems to be that the boat is constantly pulling the rider off of the rail. Is the any special driving technique or riding technique that would solve this problem. I've only had one or two full days of hitting sliders so I'm pretty new.

Thanks

drive about 15-20ft out from the slider and bump up your speed a bit. on the rail, try to lean away from the boat ever so slightly and get your balance

Just make sure you line it up right. You don't have to be so far away from the rail - 10-15 feet should work. Just try to keep the speed smooth and stay in line with the rail until the rider's off it. As ctipping said, if you're the rider aim for the side of the rail opposite the boat. Also, it could be that you're holding the rope in the wrong hand - I've found that switching hands sometimes makes a huge difference in being able to stay on sliders....

definently, just drive parallel to the slider and you'll be fine. the rider just has to get the balance to stay on. Like Maestro said try switchin hands that can help sometimes

You just drive it straight.

When hitting any slider you have to cut into it not just stay straight. The rope will always pull you off the slider towards the boat. Instead of lining yourself up with the slider and hitting it straight cut into the slider which will carry some momentum and keep you in the middle of the slider. Leaning away from the boat will keep you in the middle also.
