the Grubb for 05 is double galssed, making it heavier, and more durable, it has softer edges shaped more like a wood skate, it has a very unique top concave shape with a cener beam of sorts, and the concave has been pushed out to the edges of the board more like a 4 trac, than the 04 grubb. It also comes with the new shanks fins, and it has a spot for the Byerly lock, (which is about 40 bucks) basically theyve done everything they can to make it edge more like a wood skate, and less like a wakeboard

scott a,

Is it really heavy? I remember my 04 Byerly would blow away like a leaf at times. What did they do to make it heavier?

Vance, I agree they needed to be heavier
the grubb is double glassed,
the byerly has rods down the center,
and the karma has weights where skatebord trucks would be
scott a, IDK what the center beam is for, but it feels surprisingly natural to me at least

I've been riding the 03 scape, will I have problems adjusting to the 04 Grubb (weight wise) ?

i thought the 04 grubb felt like ass. either my toes or my heels couldnt touch the board because of the spine. it makes no sense to me whatsoever, and it negates the purpose of having a concave skate, but whatever.

and the grubb skate has weights at the nose and tail of the skate i believe (as opposed to weight down the center of the board like it does w/ integrity and the byerly).

Vance, lets just say its deceptively heavy. the first time i picked it up i almost lost my grip because i was used to hype skates being really light.

cRaZyMo, no, your confusing the center beam in the top shape/concave of the Catalyst, with the center rod weighting system in the byerly
