| I saw that in the Dallas Morning news a couple weeks ago...thats insane. Me?...When I can afford it, I'm going to get an HD Projector w/ DLP, that way I can make the image as big as I want. |

Bowen, you can buy a DLP projo for less than $1500. I know that isn't exactly happening on a college punk budget, but they really are not that pricey.
IMO, there is such a thing as too big. You would have to have a really large room for that unit to make much sense. As it is, I am pushing my father to not go larger than 50" for his media room as it is only 15X12.
I have a 53" in a space about 10X17. It's too big for the room, feels like you are on TV not watching TV.

chavez, I know, although punk isn't really my thing, the whole college budget does come true. That and I still live on campus, (and I'm trying to save up so I can move off campus, hopefully by the end of this year). 
The other up to projector is that I can make smaller too. But then again, that DLP projector is not HD, the HD one's are more expensive, but by the time i'm in the market they shouldn't be that bad.
On another note, I have a friend who turned his whole den/living room into a media room, he even bought the really comfy black leather chairs...it is sweet! |

Bowen, about 3 years ago I bought a projo for the office that was 1080i capable, for just over 1400 bux. It was an Epson something or other, I believe it was a 2000:1 contrast ratio model.
Anyhow, we hooked it up to my xBox using a component video connector - looked pretty damn good to me.
