Just wanted to warn everyone of the dangers of vacation packages, in particular, http://www.vacationstationflorida.org

A friend of mine recently bought a vacation from them, the story is below. If your bored and want to make me feel better about this, leave them comments at http://www.vacationstationflorida.org/contactn.html saying you'll never use them because of paslay@comcast.net. You can check out what the Better Business Bureau has to say about them at http://www.orlando.bbb.org/nis/newsearch2.asp?ID=1&ComID=0733000006000026, they also have 87 complaints at the department of consumer's affairs in FL.

This ordeal began when a friend bought a vacation package in November 2001. She planned on using the vacation package in the spring of 2003 since she was in school until December 2002. For the next year she believed she had gotten a deal on a great vacation. She had me check into the package in November 2002 when her travel companion could no longer go. I found that the vacation package expired in November 2002, had additional costs, additional fees, restrictions, the cruise served no drinks, the hotel wasn't on the beach, the vacation was pretty much a trick. She assured me that they told her the vacation was valid until May, 2003 and at this point simply wanted a refund. Vacation Station was adamant about not giving a refund, not even a partial one. They informed me that the best thing to do was to sell this package. Rather then force a college student to lose the $348 she paid, I reimbursed her and she learned a valuable lesson. I then extended the trip until May 2003 for $50 in hopes of selling the vacation as advised. I no longer wish to sell this package, as I can't in good conscience sell such a vacation package. I do not expect them to do anything to rectify the situation, I believe their business model requires deception and unethical practices. I only hope that by writing this, future consumers will not make the same mistake and if they lose enough business, it's like I got my money back. Feel free to pass this on...

Thanks,
Nick

Nick, I did leave comments on your behalf at the site, as I also hate being shafted by shonky companys, but I did look into the co. myself before I emailed them my thoughts. Hope this helps you feel better!

Cheers, Very Happy

No probs, do you you guys have those tabloid 'Investigative journalism' current affairs style programs over there? Sure you do... We have heaps in Australia. You should give them a ring, really stick it to this company...
