Bambamski, Erik is obviously mocking the X-Star with his photoshopped SAN.

That X-Star definitely looks like a offshore power boat with all it's anodized aluminum. I just don't think it fits a typical wakeboarder's style and taste.

With all the barbed wire and gawdy graphics aside, I REALLY like that color blue.

Honestly, I think the jagged "X" alone conflicts with the the lines on the change from black to metallic blue- let alone with the barbed wire further complicating the lines. As for the carpet, some sort of other design, perhaps with a milder "X" logo to match one that would go on the side? Dont know, but there is indeed too much going on in the graphics. Also, the blue billet supports should be darker, or even powder coated to match the sides... they're too light as it is, and dont really match the rest of the blue thats directly below it. Here, black or dark blue would look pimpalicious- especially with a different black "X" logo and white outlines. All the white diagonals on main graphics need to be removed and replaced with black diagonals blending into the blue.

Same goes for the trailer- That color is simply awesome, but the barbed wire on there looks tacky- especially with all the criss-crossing. A couple of silver pinstripes would have been a lot cleaner.

Wheels- I doubt those are dubs, and I think they're actually the factory ones... just with a polished shine. I do like these.

I know... the TAZ is way to spread out. I did think OJ was driving though...

The point is the all white boat with nothing on it? Why would you want something like that? I don't think the resale on an all white boat is going to be very good.

For all you that think the "Classic" look will come back, when has that ever happened? Even when a classic car like the mustang is brought back like the new 05 there is still something about it that says it's new and improved. The lines of a boat will be the same. I for one want boats to keep progressing and pushing the envelope in how they look.

my name x2hoss, maybe because i own an x2???, check my profile....

The x-star was built as a CUSTOM boat with mastercraft extras. the artist had done an awesome job which is what i was trying to point out in the pictures which do no justice. the paint isnt as gaudy or vibrant as it seems. the boat has about 30 lights around so everyone could see the detail in the paint. I picked this boat out to bring to our dealership. I knew the hardcore wakeboarders would NOT like this boat.,really its not practical. who wants their buds crashing their boards into the sides or fins through the interior not me. When you go to a car show you want to see something DIFFERENT not 20 silver vw's.

I come on this website and listen to all opinions and listen to customers to find out what will make our shop create some hype....NOTICE... not trying to sell or mention our business name for respect of the website....

this boat is not a promo or something to look for in the future, it is a ONE AND ONLY AND THATS IT just to clear that up

this boat was brought in for the guy who wants everything or something different or to be a poser ...whatever... but to have that choice. some of our boat buyers dont even know what wakeboarding is and dont really care either.

But my job is to find out what they want and we got something for everyone Very Happy

It's just a boat show boat, I hope it's in ATL in Jan, it would be cool to check out. I'd never buy it but it's fun to see oddball stuff like that once in a while. The barbed wire stuff is a bit too "gay wrestler" for me, but hey. I'm sure there is a WWF homo with some disposable income out there. There's an ass for every seat.

Hoss, thanks for posting the pics. Its more fun to check that boat out than read another insipid "What boat should I (daddy) buy, Xstar or SANTE?" post.

i dont think thats what very many people want. loose the barbwire and make it not so flashy lookin. im not sayin take it way back to the classic look although i like the classic look more maybe tone it down a bit.

im not a huge fan of the new X-stars anyways, i dont really care for them.

What I don't get is "most" of you put aftermarket stuff on your boats anyhow, look at all the boats on these fourms, stickers, chomed out everything, tower speakers, LED lights, chome exhaust pipe extensions Shocked So why are you ripping this X-Star that has everything apart? It has gotten all of your attention because of the paint job (like it or not) and then you'll lean towards all the aftermarket BS. It's marketing and thats all............I'm in the car business and theres a seat for every ass!

The X-Star is an amazing boat, it really doesn't drive or look like a conventional ski boat but it sure throws a hella wake..............put all the BS aside, Isn't that what we really all want?

Not only is that a sweet boat, but It follows a theme. It keeps the same color, the same racer idea, etc. The boat has a simple graphic and looks nice.

On the other hand, the X-Star has a "toolish" theme (If you will...) and It doesn't keep a true theme throughout. The X-Star has a crazy graphic and confuses my eyes more than It does interest them.

Once again, both boats aren't for everyone, just for one person or maybe a few. I just don't think It's right to compare the Nascar boat to this X-Star.

I see your point FRG but also see things differently.

The difference I see between the two boats is that the X-Star screams "wanabe hardcore wakeboarder!" and I think that's the general feeling of disgust that you see in most of these posts.

It's like if you and a bunch of buddies fixed up old hot rods with better engines, sweet paint, etc. and then someone comes along in some car auction special knowing nothing about hotrods, simply wanting something so he could be "cool" too.

Personally, the Nascar boat does absolutely nothing for me. I wouldn't do it but I respect Hyperryd for wanting something different and doing something he enjoys. (i.e. customizing a boat.)

I see your point KING but that X-Star screams someone has extra money...........I really hope that cheesy barb wire and a sweet paint job doesn't mean wanabe. I always thought a wanabe is the kid that knows all the lingo, talks him or herself up, has the best equiptment, and can't ride.

I like the #3 boat and i like this one. I dont think that everyboat needs to be the same color scheme or the same style. The sport is about being different everyone talks about style and how they dont like the robitic trick throwing guys that are doing well in the pros now but when it comes to the boat if it isnt the "classic" look then it is ugly, lame, redneck, or overdone.

If i had the money to buy a new comp ski/wake boat then i sure wouldnt want it to look like everyone elses. i would want something to set it apart from the masses that have flocked to the dealers to buy these boats because they are popular now.

The #3 boat is a sweet looking boat and would be great for a nascar fan (all of which iam sure are not rednecks) or someone that just wants something different.

This boat will find a home and will bring the busisness more customers because of the flash of the boat.

they both do follow a theme and i do think that they can be compared in this forum. the NASCAR boat is a one of a kind along w/ this one, people have diff. taste and most people dont like this boat at all.

like many people have said this boat is most likley for the person who doesnt know much about wakeboarding and wants a cool looking boat even though IMO its not. . . . . its all opinion

What is with all the negativity? Most of the time everyone is possitive and congraulatory on people's boats, what's the deal? I think is was just presented wrong I bet if someone had said look at my new boat and it was sitting in the water every one would have been WOW, That's awsome! Yes probably a few people would mention doing without the barb wire! But instead we figure out it's a dealer so most run it down! Come on!! That boat is exactly what people go to boat shows to see! I, along with thousands of other people drive hours away from where I live to see boats just like that at boat shows across the nation!

If your best friend rolled up with that boat and a barb wire tattoo around his arm, everyone of us would be running to get our shorts and board to go to the lake!! If you deny that YOU ARE A LIER!!

I would say a TRUE wakeboarder's style is very much function over fashion. Paying for what you need and what you'll actually use instead of expensive useless cosmetic accessories. It's all about the riding, not looking cool in a hot flashy boat.

That X-Star looks like what a all muscled up dude with a barb wire tattoo on one bicep, and tribal on the other would be motoring down a coast line trying to pick up chicks with.
