Here's the link to some photos that I took with my new D70 in about the last month. Feedback/critique is welcomed.

Nice shots! I have 2 questions:

Are you shooting RAW and processing and do you set your white balance on auto or manually?

(snowmobiling pictures)

Those were just shot with a Tamron 75-300 f/4.0 - 5.6 thats getting the job done for now atleast. Although the kickboxing photo our group used a Canon DRebel, so that lens what was whatever comes on it. Im getting sick of the floating apeture though, so saving for the Nikon VR-S 70-200 f/2.8. Also, I have a Nikon 50 f/1.8 that is nice.

Just wondered. Some of the snow shots look like either the white balance is off or the snow is underexposed. I didn't know if that was the look you wanted or not. Snow is very tough to meter properly. I usually set the WB manually off a grey card or off the sky in a pinch. Then you can meter off the scene and dial in some positive exposure compensation (+2 stops according to the zone system). That will keep your snow white and everything else from being underexposed. Another trick you can use if you're not sure what your exposure should be is to meter off your hand. Make sure your hand is lit with the same light as your scene and then if you're in manual mode adjust shutter/aperture until your meter reads +2/3rds, if you're shooting in AV or TV dial up +2/3rds exposure compensation, meter off your hand, lock and recompose. This works everytime as your palm is exactly 2/3rds of a stop brighter than an 18% grey card. Of course it works better if your hands are clean! Wink
