We did that on the whaler that we were riding behind for a week on vacation (ours was 15 ft.) . It didn't help bunches and bunches, but it helped, and we also put as many people as we could in it whenever we went, which was 3 with a rider behind the boat. We gave up on the water when it didn't help, as we could all jump about as high as we could on that wake, and an inch or so wouldn't make too much difference for us. Plus we were just goofin around, wishin we had a skate with us. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

| Fill some 5 gallon plastic drums with water and stick as many as you can in without sinking it, should help the wake, just make sure you are a decent driver , the extra weight will make it harder to handle. The boat is not really big enough. |

| The other problem when you weigh down a smaller boat is that you will have to go faster to plane the boat...i.e. like several miles over the typical 20 mph which really makes for a painful fall. Just be careful. |

when i had my 15ft whaler we use to always try and keep full gas tank and have a cooler full of water in the back although there wasnt a big change i think it helped a little also we had the motor trimmed up a little ,good boat to practice switch and/or grab a skate.

yeah its def. possible i learned my first invert on my whaler (mexican roll) and on my friends dingy he learned a tantrum by as the boat was plaining off he would cut from the middle of the wake and launched off the inside of the wake while it was still forming which is alot bigger than normal speed. I know a guy who also has a 15whaler and is good size prlly 170lbs and i have seen him do hs blind 5s off the double up.

squshyshoes, I have a 20 foot whaler. I open up the plug to the bildge sometimes, it adds a pretty good ammout of weight to the back. The only problem is that the boat will porpise when you get to a certain speed (depending on the weight of your boat, center of gravity, etc...) It also sucks because it takes forever to plane out (if you even can) with your ammount of horepower. I can't plane out with my 175 HP with more than about 700 pounds of ballast. I'd suggest just using 5 gallon containers like ben8473 said. You can move those around to get your boat to porpise less. _________________ Crownsville Wakeboard Team |

your not going to sink a boston whaler. the cool thing is when you want to let all the water out of the boat just take out the plug when your on plane and all the water would get sucked out the drain hole, some ballast systyems work like that. _________________ Live to Ride, ride to live |

Go nuts, whalers are unsinkable. I belive you can cut a whaler in half and it will still float. _________________ They know what is what but they dono what is what they just strut. |

have you heard of a fat seat? it's basically an inflatable that looks like a couch, but instead of air, you fill it with water. they might come with a pump that you throw overboard to fill. if not, you can use a regular bilge pump and jerry rig it to work. you can wire the pump to a cigarette lighter adaptor. if you don't wanna go that route, just get the offensive line from your high school to sit in the back. _________________ Check out my comic strip:
