Yes, with shorter fins surface tricks are easier to do. 2.25 is probably too long for most wakeboarders these days.

I tried finless, the first time it went really good, i got up and did a surface 360 but i tried it a second time in a little choppier water and wiped out rite in some nice size waves the impact hurt my head cause i hit head first and it scared me out of trying it again for a while...haha

So as long as you can maintain a good progressive edge, you don't really need fins? I have 2 molded fins on either end that should help a little w/ stability right?

Maybe I'll try finlees, of course, not until the spring since it's 30 degrees here now

i hate the cold

Right on Blazer at least you tried.

It takes a little getting used to, and some people still dont like it but it definetly gives a different feel to the board.

My board also has small side fins, so I'm not totally finless.
