You'd be looking for a board in the 135-140 cm range. A bigger board will pop a bit better and have a softer landing. A smaller board will be more manuevarable, lighter, and have a better swing weight. If you can tell me anything about your riding style and if you have any preferred brands I could suggest some actual boards.

You can also try the Board Finder at http://www.boardstop.com/ . Just enter your info.

I have an 04 era, you are my weight and shoe size, medium bindings are good for our size. I don't like to loose feeling in my feet, so smalls might be a bit tight, if you want the board, i blew my knee out last week, so I've got a 2 month old board, and i'm not going to be riding it much. Personally, I loved it because it's got great pop to it, and easy maneuverability but pretty stable if you are learning new landings ect. I've also heard that the premier has similar caracteristics, but I found it to be difficult for me to manuever. What everyone has told me is to rent demo boards for a day, find which one you are most comfortable with, and put the fee of the demo towards the purchase of a new board. goodluck.

yeah, i know.... my teachers thought i should start out with an easier board but i couldn't really edge that well with the beginner boards. and i tried out the more advanced boards and i really liked the way u could control the two finned boards.

sd_wrx_21,

It sounds like you already have your mind made up. But, if not go to your local boardshop if possible. A lot of shops will let you rent boards and apply your rental fees to the one you purchase. Think about riding a few before you decide on one. There is a lot to choose from out there.

wakejeff, Actually I did. I ended up buying 4 new boards in two years before I found the one I liked. If I had just rented a few first I would have saved myself the headache and a grip of cash!! Sad
