Hey guys and gals. I'm so excited because I was having a crappy morning then I go to check my e-mail and I have an e-mail from No Fear saying I have been accepted for a Platinum Scholarship! That just made my day, and I just though I would share!

I'm thinking it's a marketing scheme because they advertised it in wakeboardingmag and if you go to their website they have a logo on the entry page for sponsorships too. I'm not complaining though I tried it and I didn't think I was going to get anything but I had nothing to lose, it just worked out on the better side for me I guess.

it is just a bunch of crap. no fear is sponsoring pretty much anyone who sends them an email. its not even a real sponsorship, all they do is give you 20-40% off on goods. no fear sucks big time, they're just trying to have more kids buy their stuff by "sponsoring" them. sorry to be such a downer, but hey, its the truth.

word kali ma. just ask yourself would you actually buy no fear if it wasn't 40% off? i had a gold "sponsorship" but i realized what a sham it is. go for it anyway if you really want though

thats a very good point, but if you ask me its also a way to get your foot in the door of sponsorships, and maybe help you out on the road to getting you next sponsor.

that'll sure look good on your sponsorship resume: NO FEAR "GOLD LEVEL"
NO FEAR "PLATINUM LEVEL"
no offense |

I think it's pretty cool either way. Low-level sponsorships usually result in discounts in products. My cousin was offered a sponsor deal with Blindside, but she declined because it was just 25% off their products and she likes Hyperlite. I'd take it if they'd give it to me. It sounds like a good deal for both kids and No Fear. Kids get clothes cheaper, and No Fear gets business and promotions....

I've heard about a lot of people getting sponsored by them also. I personally don't like No Fear, so I wouldn't want to get sponsored by them. Even if they give you free gear, would you really want to go around sporting it? Sorry, thats just my opinion

hmmmm...i dont think a no fear "sponsorship" will be the determining factor in getting a sponsorship. think about it. |

kali, im not saying it will be the determining factor, but you never know. They will see that you have past/current experience with sponsorship, so they know you arent a joke and are serious about it. In no means am i support just No Fear in this arugment, i dont support no fear at all, but this goes for any little sponsorship, that doenst meet your requirments kali.

No Fear is actually doing something really good for themselves. They offer this entry level sponsorship that does not really cost them anything at all. They will not sell you the clothing below their cost and generally will not offer if below the dealer cost. But giving people a contract to sign saying you will wear their clothes while you wakeboard and hangout for a year creates a large crew of people wearing their clothing at all the INT and amatuer events. Dont be suprised if you see lots of people wearing No Fear shorts and clothing next year at the lake. They offer these discounts because people like "refuse to conform" mentioned these people may not be purchasing these products if they were not discounted. Does this make sense?

I agree with jjbauman with what he said. You also have to realize im a poor college student so if I can get things cheaper why not take advantage of the situation. I personally like the stuff No Fear puts on their clothing line. I guess it's just a matter of what you like to wear and what not.
