How do you know its not a 360 flip? If its a heelflip it looks like it was flipped a bit late (I mean his legs not even kicked out and if it was a heelflip it would be just the beginning).

Fredrick Eisenhauer, good point
i dont think he would be able to suck his feet back that fast if it was a actual heel flip

| why do wakeskaters think it's cool to not wear vests? I would think they would be more at risk in the event that the skate knocked them unconscious

che blanc, well, if you say no to "he didnt land it" and no to "he did land it" then what is it? huh?
Fredrick Eisenhauer, it may be a heelflip right when he kicked it, so maybe hes foot is in the process of extending.

Wakebrad, although I don't condone not wearing a vest, I think your way more at risk on a wakeboard. the forces of landing from those heights and speeds can F you up
But what I can't figure out is, why nobody questions why surfurs dont wear vests?????

| Elevation, it hink hes talking about wake surfers because there are obvious reasons why surfers dont wear vests. i think everyone behind the boat should wear a cg vest but if they dont who cares thats their choice. i dont like wearing a helmet anymore when i skateboard. does that mean im stupid no. i just think its unnescecary. ive been skating for years and have never come even close to hitting my head why should i wear a helmet. sure if im trying something big or new id put one on. its up to the discretion of the rider.

The Headless Chicken, what are the obvious reasons why surfurs don't wear vests???? I was talking about Surfing, not wakesurfing.
I've hit my head skating a couple of times, but I'm still not going to wear a brain bucket. This safety police society is getting out of hand......

| Surfers dont wear vests casue you float awhole lot better in salt water. Plus most of them i think have leashes on there boards.

leashes are not for flotation. Scott jobe said the same thing in alliance. how is a 10 foot leash going to keep you afloat??? Leashes are to keep the board from getting to far away. Also you don't float that much better in salt water.

Surfers don't wear life vests for a few reasons. First being that it's a pain in the ass to paddle with one on. Second reason is that your surfboard has more floatation than any life vest could give you, and as Russian said...with a leash it's no farther away than a short tug of the leash that attatches it to you. Third, have you ever tried to swim under a wave with a lifevest on?? It's almost impossible...so wearing one would only make it harder to get to the line up by "duck-diving" under waves.
Surfers who ride very huge waves by towing in behind Jet-skis do wear them though...they help bring them to the surface faster if they fall on a 50 ft+ closeout. But there's no surfer that wears one for anything that they would paddle into.

K-dub, i guess i see the point, but still even tho it would be a hassle to paddle with a good vest could be pretty helpful

Elevation, i see your point. in the event that you need to pull on your leash to grab your board to help float yourself, you are probably to wasted to actually do so. But K-dub also has a good point in which you wouldn't be able to paddle out and tuck under waves if you were wearing a vest

Elevation, well the board has well and truely started its rotation. I'm pretty sure its not a heelflip.
