I was wondering how to get up on a board. I've never wakeboardered before. I tried to get up by myself but i never could. Can you give me some advice on how to get started.

Well I don't know the size of my board. I bought it at Sam's club. my parents didn't want to spend a bunch of money on it and i wanted to learn. I'm 5'10" and 170lbs. My board goes a little higher than half of my size.

bleed-the-dream, that could be a main problem. If the board its too small, which it sounds like it is, it will be a hard time getting up.

Ok thanks. I have one more question. When you are sitting in the water getting ready to take off do you have the board sticking up or on it's side?

Sit in the water with the board in front of you the bottom should be facing the boat and about 1/2 way out of the water, your toes will be pointed straight up in the air. Have your driver take out the slack and then take off. It depends on your natural tendencies as to the next advice, some people lean too far forward and flop over the front, others too far back and drag through the water. What I tell people to think of is if you were sitting in the street with your feet on a curb and you had a friend reach over and try and help you up, you brace against the curb and kinda swing up. If you pull too hard, you pull your friend down, not hard enough and you flie into your friend and knock him backwards.
Your height and weight only matter in relation to the board size, larger boarder==larger board. |

Get the board in front of you point your tows down, If you were to slide in a baseball game whatever foot you put in front there would go in front as you wakeboard The rest just takes getting used to

I agree, i don't think that matter when your getting up, when your thinking about buying a board or somethin like that yes but when your just getting up you need to know the basics

Lets say someone is 6'10, 325 pounds, they're not going to be able to get up on a Hyperlite Kids Unite Series 121 cm board.

Most cases It does If It's a huge margin, but a few cm's wont make a big difference.
Kid Insano's chart is good, I follow It and I've had no problem with getting up and riding my board. _________________ www.Tigeowners.com
