it varies from dealer to dealer.

also, some dealers "pack" it into the price of the boat, and give the illusion that you aren't paying for it when you are in fact.

K-dub,
your right with that one. My dealer said its tacked on to the base price of the v-ride, which is listed a lot more than $39,000 US.
I'm starting to think all the manufacturers discounts that we are getting by buying now is exactly the difference the dealer is up from the $39 000.

steve-o, I don't know anything about pricing up in Canada, but it sounds to be about right to me...

The dealer that I work for isn't that way though. We will show everything itemized on the deal so you know what you are paying for up front. I know alot of dealers don't do that though....they're all different.

I charge nothing for freight and prep, nor do I tack it on to the price of the boat. I figure it is my job to sell the boat so its my responsibility to get the boats here and ready to sell.

Brother, you are definitely the exception to rule on that one! Very Happy My Moomba dealer charged me for delivery and somewhere around $150 for boat 'prep'. Great deal for me since the first thing I had to do when I got the boat home (5 miles from the dealer) was to wash, vacuum, and detail it since it looked like crap. Needless to say, I haven't let him forget that little gouge on pricing whenever I've returned the boat for service (which aint often, since I do most of my own service). I can abide paying a delivery fee for a new boat, heck we pay it on the cars/trucks we buy from a dealer, but I think the dealer should eat the cost of prepping a $30K+ boat for delivery to the customer. Personally, I'll never pay a 'prep' fee again.
