Anyone ever seen this in person or ridden behind it? Just seems funny to me to spend $$$ to get a non stretch line then do this.

thats the dumbest invention for wakeboarding I've ever seen. If you jumped the wake with it it would yank you forward so hard that you'd blast into the future! _________________ Crownsville Wakeboard Team |

I am going to bet this "slingshot" will become the next "giant tower" were they made the 10 foot extension that looked like a giant sail that went on top of towers. I'm not going to say its a dumb idea, simply on the fact someone put a lot of time into it, but if that is the next big thing for wakeboarding its a true shame. To me it looks like just another gemic(spelling) Snowboarders don't keep adding crap to the sport, why should wakeboarders? (weak argument) but I'm not getting into it.
Never riden it, don't want to ride it, sorry I can't give you a better opinion.

CulverBum, the reason snowboarding doesnt seem to come out with new technology is because they dont have something like a boat pulling them. But they do come up with new advancements in gear like new boards bindings and boots and such. Also, like a boat (compared to the slingshot), places have come out with new technology such as lift designs, machines for grooming, snowmaking, pipecutters, and just rails and stuff in general. Snowboarding is always coming out with new stuff.
id say dont diss the slingshot til youve tried it, that dude seemed pretty stoked. _________________

| The idea of putting some of the aspects of cable riding into boat riding seems solid enough. Plenty of people do some amazing tricks on a cable. |

I would try it..... but I don't think its anything more than a gimmic.... You know what would be a good invention, a jet board like on wakeboarding unleashed _________________ ......and one time at wakeboard camp. Come on people say something original. |

Elevation, First off I didn't diss it at all, didn't you read the post, I said I'm NOT going to say its a dumb idea, I simply said I wouldn't want to try it.
Second, I told you snowboarding was a weak argument, but you still didn't change my opinion. Wakeboarding like snowboarding adds new technology to their boards, bindings, and gear. Not gemics like a slingshot. The enhancements they make to the snow, like pipes, rails and jumps are all stuff wakeboarders attempt to do to. We have kickers, rails, and we always attempt to get a bigger and better wake. But adding a slingshot to the tower is along the same lines as adding a hydrolic lift to the bottom of a snowboard, it would be a gemic, not a true technological advance. And if you don't know what I mean by gemic, I mean something that will most likely not be used in the mainstream simply because it takes away from the actual talent of a person and mechanically forces them to do something. All sports have them, they just don't use them...unless you "need/want" the help of the gemic.
Lastly, "that dude seemed pretty stoked" I shouldn't touch this, but when you are either sponsored or paid to test out new equipment, they aren't going to show you on film saying you hate it and it sucks. Hell even if they didn't pay you they wouldn't show you hating it.
Again I never said it sucks or that I hated it, simply that I wouldn't want to try it. |

CulverBum, sorry i came down on you the wrong way. not that i think about it you are right about the guy saying it was fun even though you could probably do a lot more (and more easily) without that thing. As for snowboarding, i know what you said i was just pointing out things. I guess you could say lifts and snowcats and pipbuilders are like a snowboards "boat" and yes both sports are adding things very often. rails and kickers are in both. i guess i was just trying to bring the fact up that snowboarding does have advancements but youre right, not drastic things like this that probably wont be used very much.
BTW, a hydrofoil lift on the bottom of a snowboard would be the most retarded idea ever haha.
unless there was 17 foot powder _________________
