Hey, I figured I'd post this here, b/c you guys know what you are talking about. I'm looking for a digital camera that will be a good everyday camera and good for taking action shots...like wakeboarding. I'd like it to be small so I can take it to party's and stuff too. It should probably be about 4 MP or higher, at a reasonable price.
Any suggestions?
Thanks. |

www.dpreview.com
I researched on that site for about a year before I bought my Canon DR. you can compare anything side by side.
The main thing that you need to look at is the optical zoom if you aren't going to go with a SLR. I personally like Canon because I've been using that brand since I got my AE-1 in 1993.
I have my AE-1, an A-70 that i use for everyday shooting, and my digital rebel. _________________ -Steve

If you're looking for something to carry in your pocket, you most likely wont get very good action shots because you cant control the shutter on a Point and Shoot camera.
A digicam is nice for that if you dont want to spend much. I love my Konica Minolta Dimage A2, but would prefer a more expensive(dslr) one. Just browse around on dpreview, and look into the buying guide. _________________

| I have a Digital Rebel and it does the trick. Thinking about upgrading to the 20D, but can't afford it at the moment. The one thing I don't like about the SLRs is that they're so damn big. If I want to go out at night and take some pictures, I'm not gonna lug around my SLR with me. It's tough to find a camera that will get you good action shots but is small enough to fit in a pocket. |

I was thinking about the 20D also, but i think I'm going to wait till (probably next fall) I get the mark 2 or whatever new canon is close to it when I have enough money. _________________ -Steve

Yeah I was thinking about the 20D, but the upper mp cameras are not much more. I think if I dont go 20d next, I would like to go more high quality(mp mainia) but dont know which one yet. The mark ll does look nice. _________________
