this was my first attempt at wakesurfing. It was fun but I have never surfed at all. there was also no ballast in the boat (except for two 250lb friends on the back).

Nice Pic!
Wakesurfing is fun, huh? Maybe try moving up the wake a bit, like a foot or so higher, maybe even a foot and a half. Seems like there is plenty of wake there for you though. What kind of boat is that?
Good Luck and keep at it!!

savage3221 thank you. I took that one at the north texas game. here's one of a Cedric and Vincent fumble from this last weekend and the guys that spell out texas flipping. (sorry, not trying to make this thread off topic, I won't let it happen again)
wakeboarder2687 it's a 20i. I think we're going to be getting a 21i or 22i this spring so it should probably be better. thanks for the advice, I'll try it the next time we go out.

yea, I'm wearing a watch. it's a Ducks Unlimited titanium Fossil watch. I always wear it.
Yea, I like the ride. we got it from the ski dock here in Austin. I don't have anything else to judge it with because I haven't tried anything else. I haven't been able to use it since that weekend because of the UT football games. I was going to go out again this weekend, but I might be going to the UT and Texas Tech game. I'll find out before the spring if the top messes up.
Next time i go out i'll take my digital rebel and take better pictures.
Oh yea, it was our first time to go to lake travis for the year. I'm usually either on lake austin or at LBJ staying at my condo.

yea, I'm going to have to go with WOW. nice pictures JRock*Girl.
my boat is unweighted, but my friends are fat so that helps. I thought I needed more to be able to surf without a rope, but I might just need someone to tell me what to do while I'm out there. I'll figure it out eventually.
peace...

bordinaustin, I keep both of my feet as close as I can to the teoside rail of the board. I also keep ALOT of weight on my front foot. I usually don't bother taking the time to weight my boat an dthe wake is pretty small. Those pics were waken from the very bottem of the swim platform thats why the wake looks huge...it really isn't.
Thanks guys, I know a photographer that wanted to trade me taking him wakeboarding for some shots...couldn't refuse the offer. I have a ton of pics...

bordinaustin, weight forward=move forward.....weight back on the board=move backwards. I had trouble with getting it down on my first run when I was learning..but after one of my buddies told me this it was a peice of cake to get down..just a little practice and getting the knack for it. We usually have to ride with the rope for a minute or two and get the feel for the wake and the board and then toss her in when we feel good n ready.
good luck learnin
P.S. do you ever post on 360wakeboard.com? It is the local riders forum for Austin. Pretty good one over there, you should check it out if you are not already a member/aware of it.

Here are a couple of pictures from the summer when we were surfing. I have learned to surf switch b/c of the boat I ride behind. It is a lot of fun.

savage3221 thanks for the advice. I know about 360, but haven't been able to get to a meeting in the past 4 or so years that i have been wakeboarding. just like i didn't make it out to waketoberfest again. I look on the boards every once in a while, but haven't registered because I don't think that I would post much. I don't even really post much here. I might try to go to the next meeting or something if my schedule permits.
later...

bordinaustin, we really don't have meetings! Just show up to events such as 3 ride, waketoberfest...plan trips to TSR...
Its actually just a bunch of people looking for boat rides and boat owners offering rides. o formal meetings at all.

Actually the second picture is from the sun deck. Its a 03' tige 22v with too much weight. Wake is so easy to surf. Definatly the biggest i've surfed, and it definatly has the most ridable area. You can screw almost any cut/lipslide and still have plenty of time to get back up to speed.

I'll go out the next time something comes up. I still haven't been out to TSR yet. (I suck and don't ride too much anymore) when we go to the lake these days, we'll ride for a few hours and then drop the anchor and party. I really wanted to go to waketoberfest and take pictures for a friend, but had a family emergency that took priority.
