I have been riding my buddies Hyperlite Byerly 2002 136 board the past year. I just bought the Hyperlite TFD 2004 136 for myself. It is my first board. I have not had a chance to ride it yet. I was wondering how it compares. I can take the TFD back cause it is still in the wrapping. Would you keep the TFD or go with something else. I like the Byerly and want a similar or better ride. I am new to the wakeboard family. I can get up and stay up. Jumping is the next thing to learn. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

That TFD board looks pretty cool, isn't that the one with the asian writing on it? When you get a chance to ride it let me know how it goes. If you are ever looking for a pull in the area we are fairly close. Good luck with your board.

the tfd is going to be a lot quicker on turns than the byerly. it's a great board, just make sure you're edging and not using the fins to track.

From someone that has ridden both boards.... you are better off with the TFD... esp. if you are just learning to jump

Hey, I have a 2004 TFD and I love it. I'm an intermediate boarder and it works great. Its my second board and I think its perfect for learning to jump and edge. It is a pretty quick board but its not out of control and the landings are super soft.

Awesome, Thanks for all the help so far. I am going to try and take the TFD out this weekend.

Hey Tpitty, what lake do you go to the most?

Mostly like Ray Hubbard or Lavon.....but I will venture our most anywhere...Lewisville, Grapevine, etc.... especially if you can handle the chilly weather Wink Let me know and we can hook up and try out your tfd.

Both boards ride totally different. The byerly has an abrupt 3 stage and the tfd has a continuous rocker. How you ride should determine what board you get. If you cut hard at the wake the tfd would be a better choice. If you take a mellow cut but still want big pop, get the byerly. The byerly does have huge pop but rides slow.
