Hey all, I just signed up to the forum since Im getting into wakeboarding seriously. Ive been wakeboarding since I was about 8 or 9 but i Wasn't much into it. Now, I want to get serious. I live on Lake Pickett, Florida. Now, I have a boat. Its not a wakeboarding boat its actually a hurricane which is if you dont know is a deckboat. It throws a nice wake plus Im gonna start throwing some wanna-be fat sacks i made myself into it. Now, for the questions.
Im getting a new board eventually since Ive been using a Walmart Board with not great quality. Now, I dont want to come off as whiny Im just want to improve and my equipment needs improvement. Now Im stuck between two Boards one is a LiquidForce Nemesis 131 with element Bindings
http://www.buywake.com/catalog/detail.lasso?cat=18&man=Liquid%20Force&sku=LI_VSveS
Or a Hyperlite 134 with Spin Bindings
http://www.boardstop.com/product_info.php?cPath=53_54&products_id=557
Im looking for a board with a nice pop, pop is very important to me. Id also like a smooth ride with a not too fast feeling. The lighter the bored the better. Now, If you have suggestions you wanna make please make it a package deal with bindings and a board and keep it under 300 dollars.
Also, would a pole like the one below help out at all, or is it worth the money? Thanks a lot for the input.

Welcome to WB.com
First Off, Both boards would be great but personal I would go with the Hyperlite Motive 134. Many people like the board to improve on.
Second, the Pylon Pole will help. It won't help your height, but it will help your hang time. _________________ www.Tigeowners.com

Welcome Velcro, I was so very relieved to read your post and see that it was quick, to the point, informative as to what you were looking for, and gave specific examples of what you were looking for. (you should be proud of yourself) Once again, welcome to the site. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

Velcro, I would try to make your own pylon. It will save you a lot of money, that you can apply towards a tower purchase in a year or more. Do a search on here, there have been plenty of people posting about how they made their own, for under $100. Or you can PM me and I'll give you some pointers on how mine was made.
Go with the Motive. I ride a Belmont which is the board that the Motive replaced and it's an awesome board.

Based on what you are wanting it looks to me like you should go with the nemesis 131. It's a 3 stage rocker which will pop you up higher than a continuous. Continuous will put you farter out. 3-stage will put you more verticle. Also it will be slower in the water which is something you mentioned. The nemesis should be lighter also. I'm sure K-dub has the specs on that
What tricks can you land now and what tricks do you want to land in the next 2 years? |

As far as what you should get just go out and demo then you will have a beter idea of the board feature you like.
If you live on Pickett search out the GATOR guys and they will always be happy to help. Matter of fact I have a GatorBoards Pickett its a 136 it is for sale if you are interested. One of the best designed boards ever.

Yea, you should demo, and should have no problem demo-ing in your location.
Re: 3 stage board discussion, I think novices should ride continuous boards. But it is up to you, demo. _________________ Check out https://www.facebook.com/darcizzleoffshore |

| Guys thanks a lot for the tips. Ill try to demo but I heard a rumor that Gator doesn't even live on pickett anymore. Ill try to get in touch with my bro's friend. He knows gator real good and is kinda unofficialy sponsored, or so I heard. If any of you guys have seen the Spun video its Shawn Moore, even though that isn't his real name. Well guys thanks a lot, and keep the info coming. |
