Before I make the trip to the lake, I check weather.com . what wind speed MPH makes choppy water? is it inaccurate?

are there any websites that collect live cams or photos of the lake? perhaps people who wake on that day can share their photo in an organized lake forum?

thanks

YelloJello, your avatar is freakin scary man!

If you're riding in open water with no wind protection I don't like any more than 8mph winds. But you can always find a shoreline with some protection.

You really have to know your local lakes and what winds aren't good for your riding spots. But Wakebrad is right, usually you can find some good water on any lake at any time...you just have to know where to look to find some sheltered cover or shoreline.

Weather.com is not always right. Several times this year, it's predicted 50% (+) rain and thunderstorms, but I've got out and had some of the best riding all year. And usually the weather scares people off the lake, so you have to all to yourself.
