Does anyone have experience with this? I'm sure it's messy, but is it easy?
Also, how much? |

yep it's easy. unless the bearings got hot, sometimes they will seize up to the axle parts if they get to hot. _________________ "I don't understand...what is this NO WAKE zone you speak of?...and what does it mean?" |

if you have never done it or your dad or someone else has never done it i would take it to the dealer. i think it's easy but i work on cars so it's no big deal . but if you don't get the bearing tighten back up right you will be on the side of the road with a blowen out bearing. but if you want to try you can buy a bearing packer i would buy new bearings because there cheap. but the new bearing in the bearing packer push down on it until you see grease is coming out of the new bears i would also use the grease that is made for the water not the car type grease. then install the new bearing making sure it don't tighten it up too tight. i always tighten my bearings so when you spin the tire it has a little resistance. the tire should make around a full rotation or alittle more. if you can push in and out on the wheel and tire and feel play it's not tight enough. _________________ we can fix it !!!! |

Most trailer service manuals state the tighten the bearing nut "finger tight," it should not move in and out if you push on it. Check the documents that came with your trailer, they will probably tell you how. It's easy and if you take it in some mechanic will probably just monkey-jam it on and mess it up anyhow.
