The steering on my boat is stiffer than it should be. I have a Centurion Falcon and believe that my problem is a old/bad cable. Has anyone ever replaced this or is it something that is worth the money to take it in and have it done?

if you have a couple of hours, it's pretty easy to do yourself.
since sometimes it's hard to know exactly what length to buy, when you pull it out either note where it went through the inside of the boat, or pull something along with it (rope or something) to help fish the new one in... take it to your boat shop and get a new one...
I replaced one for a friend a few years back.. the cable with the rack and pinon and everything cost like $150 or so.
I am replacing mine today and you can do it yourself. its not hard just takes some time. but i just left the steering cable in to drag through the new one like jvanick said. its hard to get it through on its own.
