I was just wondering if it is easier to spin and flip something like a backflip 360 with or without rope. I was practicing and can only spin to the side that is useless. I was wondering if it would be easier for me to spin to the other side with the rope since it spins the trick for you. Am i wasting wasting my time learning it without a rope?

either a tramp or off a high object like a vault at a gymnastic place i haven't tried a backflip 360 on the tramp yet but have off the vault and can do it. but i spin the way that is useless for like a whirlybird. I want to know if the rope will help me spin faster

I am guessing so. If you are trying to get comfortable with a rotation, learn it however you can, whichever way feels easier. Use the rope and handle and try to simulate the actual trick by visualizing it and comparing it to how it would be on the water, you can get feel for some stuff like the motion, and what your hands need to do with the handle during the rotation. But the tramp won't teach you the trick, especially not a 360 mobe, it will just help you understand the rotation and can help you get comfortable in the air. Bringing it to the water is a different ballgame. You can do whatever you want on the tramp, but if its for progressing wakeboarding tricks, be sure to keep the two on the same page.

A whirlybird is a backside spin, frontside spins will feel easier in lots of cases. And heelside vs toeside will switch the clockwise/counter rotation around the opposite way, and so will switch vs regular, so something that feels awkward from heelside may feel completely natural if taken toeside.

i can already do tantrums on the water and this summer i want to step it up to a whirlybird. do u think the rope will work off a vault because i don't wanna break my neck on a tramp tryin and am already comfortable doin them frontside off vault without the rope. it seems that the whirly bird has an earlier spin than my normal backflip 360. Does it feel much different doing them that way?

I don't know, all I know is I don't plan on jumping off any vaults anytime soon. Good luck |
