Just wanted to share my latest project. Made some speaker cans out of
6 1/2" stainless steel. Gotta get them polished now and add some dynamat.

I made a set out of spun aluminum and painted them and they sound great. I don't understand why you'd dynamate them.

| That's probably just the look of the flange the speaker will mount to. The mounting part I'm still working on. I have a few ideas and just need to see which one will work best.

What type of tower are they going on? I have a phat tower so all I did was machined a small flat spot on the top of the tube and they hold nicely. I've got a set of 4. I will take a picture and send it to you sometime.

If I understand right, the dynamat will help absorb the sound wave inside the can, reducing cancelation, is this correct.
I think it was Phaeton (sp?) that recommended I do it and I would trust his advice.

Not sure about that. I will say that I can sing along to my music while boarding so its not an issue for me but I suppose it couldn't hurt to dynamate them.

| I would appreciate that picture. I am still sorting this out. My dad is in the pipe business and hooked my up with these (free pipe and welding). So now I am sorting it out. I thought about four, but these are so heavy I am scared to put four up there (at least for now, once I mount them I may change my mind). It's going on a Tige tower (2001 Metcraft). The tower has bose speakers up there and I think I can use those mounts on these with some work. Hoping once I do this, I will be able to hear the music some back there, but if not, I'll keep working on it.

I'll work on the pictures. I work in a machine shop so I took tube aluminum and faced it of with a laithe. Then I took two one 1/2 pieces of aluminum mounted them on the laithe and turned them to the same diameter as the inside of the tube aluminum. I then pressed them together so they required no welding or set screws and it looks like they are on solid piece and not the. I think your tower should handle 4. it's better to go through the entire process and have a bit of overkill than not be able to hear your music clearly. I will take a bunch of pics to show you how I did it. They might give you an idea or two!
