|
|
| Just wondering if anyone could help me out. I just recentley learned a tantrum and am keen to learn some variations on it. Trouble is when I do the tantrum I always tend to send it quite low and flat and have pretty hard landings in the flats, it looks kinda like the way a lot of the girls do them in videos, I dont seem to get an up and down pop. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

I found that the best way to go higher is to switch your edge at the top of the wake and try to pop up instead of over. If you do it right, this will send you up and into the trick. Also, it helped me to look at the wake for as long as I could before I switched my edge. Hope this helps. _________________ go big or go home |

Don't go toeside, when I said switch your edge, I meant when you hit the top of the wake, you should be opening up and squaring up your board which will give you the "pop" that you need to get high. _________________ go big or go home |

| Thanks, I know what you mean about switching the edge a little later, i think im switching early and am in a hurry to throw the flip so im not getting 100% of the pop. |

| yeah it sounds like you might be switching early. Also work on pumping the transition so when you come into the dip in front of the wake pump down and then up the wake. The more you square up your board the higher you'll go (vs distance). |

If you look at the wake for as long as you can, this may help you to time it right. You will definitely feel the "pop" when you are doing it right. Sometimes I leave the wake too early and don't get the height that makes the trick that much easier.. _________________ go big or go home |

yeah the trick with a Tantrum is to snap your edge as you come up the wake. youneed ot edge hard at the wake, but once you come up it, turn your board fairly aggresively toward the boat and throw your head backward.
Don't think about what you are doing too much.. just do it! (If that makes ANY sense!) _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

The biggest problem people have is that they let off their edge too early. Ride out the full height of the wake or your height will lack and landings will be harder. Don't rush it. _________________ Crownsville Wakeboard Team |

tommie_tantrum, you might be taking the "trip" too seriously...Many people edge super hard and square up and "trip" off the middle of the wake and it send them low and far. Ive found it you think less about the actual "trip" and edge for a high w2w jump, and square up at the very last second you will have a good looking tantrum...hope this helps _________________ www.Shadrack.com

Sounds to me that you are hucking the flip and consequently throwing yourself back.
Cut in hard, back off the edge at the bottom of the wake, not before, and stand tall. Dont think about throwing your head back, its really not necessary. Think about pushing your chest up. By thinking up instead of back, you will be more likely to take the flip up than out.
Dont forget to ride all the way up the wake. |
