|
|
I am heading up to slip my boat this weekend and wanted to know how to tie down the cover. I have a Mastercraft and it ties in the back and then straps down on all sides. Is there a way to tie the rope anywhere else, or should I plan on doing it from the water....?
Thanks!

| we just put the boat up far enough on the life to keep it stead and put the cover on as usual and just leave the straps undone. pull it tight in the back and tie it off and it will be fine |

| Thanks....MY biggets problem is that I have a Maristar with a built-in swim platform. Under that is where I have to tie up. I was thinking to cut a hole in the side of the cover and then tie up there.....Any thoughts on this? |

| i hate for you to cut a hole in your cover. you may just want to get the cover on, lift the boat a little out of the water, get in and tie it from the water. |

| My slip is about 10' deep so I had to ponder the same issue. My cover has two slit on both sides to get around the tower. I pull my cover over the boat front to back, lay on the sundeck and pull the cover over the swim platform and buckle the strap. Then I slide over the side and put the poles up and slip out over the side again. Then just velcro the slits together and buckle the strap at each slit on the side. Not to hard. So if you have to modify your cover you may want to look at the SAN 210 cover and how that is set up to get some ideas. If you want to email me at shawnorm@hotmail.com and I'll take some pictures of mine and send you. |

nashvillematt, I too have the MC maristar. I know it is a pain. I keep it out at the cottage in the hoist. It's a shorestation with the vinyl canopy. What I do is raise the boat out of the water a couple feet. Then I start at the bow and work my way back putting up the posts along the way. Then I jump out on the swim platform and with the drawstring I wrap around other eyelet and pull hard sinching the cover below the rubrail. Then I wrap the drawstring end around the eyelet on the boat and pull back to the eyelet on the cover....kinda like a pulley action. and tie it off there. Then I jump off the swim platform onto the dock and raise as high as I can. I have never had any problems with the wind undoing the cover. Last year was my first year and I used to tie down the side of the cover to the hoise but this year I had no problems by not doing that. Naturally when I trailer I use the tiedowns along the side. hope i was able to help _________________ Good Beer, Good Cheer! |
