|
|
My brother and his friend are looking for a good entry level wakeboarding boat. I know for 2004 the Switch series pretty much sucked, but i have heard that they will be making some serious changes to it.
Also, I know the ride series is good to (being the same hull as the old VLX), but what is interior quality like?
anyone have any helpful opinion on the two, and differences between them? |

As far as the Ride series goes...same malibu quality, just stripped down. For example, no stainless rub rail, or stainless windshield trim, no one piece windshield, no rear ballast, wedge plate but no wedge foil, standard dash, standard steering wheel...to name a few.
Vinyl quality and hull quality is the same as all other boats in the line. |

| ........and Switch series got revised interior, no more rubber. Its all vinyl now and subtle changes were made to the dash. Everything else seems to be the same as last year. |

agfan12,
I ride behind the 04 Switch V every weekend. Interior just plain sucks, but the wake is good with factory ballast, add a sac in the front walkway and the wake is even better. We had all factory ballast full, 540 lb. sac in walkway and 8 guys averaging 190 lbs a piece and the wake was huge. The wake just won't wash out.
The wakesurfing wake is great also, just takes some configuration of the weight and your good to go.
The switch V has the same hull as the 20V which is a great boat. You don't give up any performance with the switch V, you just give up the luxury of a nice interior.
All in all it has been a great boat so far, but if you want better interior go with the V-ride. |

Yeah, pretty much your comparing a VLX wake to a 20V wake. Tige really stepped it up from the 2004 interior with the new 2005 interior. The 2005 switch series is really nice. I haven't seen a Ride series 'Bu yet so I can't speak for them. _________________ www.Tigeowners.com

Has the price for the 20V gone up in price because of the nicer interior? I went to the local Tige dealer in the Detroit area and looked at an '04 model. They can't get rid of the thing. The interior looks CHEAP. The vinyl reminded me of paper towel, same texture and thickness. _________________ SLIP IT ON AND RIDE IT! |

| Davo.FSF, have y'all had any problems dealing with the Slalom Shop?...I've heard that they don't care about their Tige customers. And I've heard nothing but horror stories about them from their Tige customers, the only good things I've heard come from their Cobalt Customers. |

agfan12, As far as the sales department, we have had no problem at all, and they were the reason that we stayed with Tige. We have had some problems with the service as had a lot of others. We even had it serviced once or twice next door at Buxton Marine (Nautique Dealer) where they gladly serviced it for us. Little by little though the service is getting better. The sales though really care about their customers, whenever we have a problem with our boat we don't even bother going to the service shop because the sales guy make sure it gets done when we bring it to them. Overall, we've had ups and downs with the S.S. but for the past 2-3 months with them, we've had no problem at all. _________________ www.Tigeowners.com

By the way, They don't have any of the 2005's in yet because they want all the first off the line boat's kinks worked out before they start getting shipped to them. But they do have the 2005 Switch V and Switch I, so If your in Dallas you should definetely go check them out up there. _________________ www.Tigeowners.com
