Does anybody have plans for a flat bar that is about 2-3 feet high and about 30 feet long?

Hey Bud, i dont have very many plans but i can tell you what my buddies and i did.

-We drove 4x4 stakes into the ground 40 feet apart from one another.
-We drove them until each one was 2 feet above the water line.
-We then ran a TIGHT string across from one post to another on top, and then on one side of a post to the other. (you do this for allignment)
-We then got 2x4s into the ground until they were at string level. You can put them as far apart as you would like, but i reccomend 3 or 4 feet apart for strength.
-Make sure your boards are long enough so that when you drive them into the ground to be 2 feet above the water, they are a good 3+ ft deep in to the ground for sturdiness.
o-nce they were all alligned, we layed 2x4s atop all of the post.
-we drilled them in, not nailed, just incase we need to break down the slider.
-We then cut the end peices to the legth we wanted, according to steepness up onto the slider. (if you want transfers onto the slider, if not dont read this)
-we then drove more 2x4s into the ground at the end of the the sliders where we wanted the transfers to reach and steepness. that took 2 2x4s on each side.
-We then screwed them in, and also alligned them against the 2x4s on top of the slider so that there would be a smooth transition up onto the slider (BE SURE TO DO THIS IF YOU DONT WANT TO EAT S#!T WHILE GETTING UP ONTO THE SLIDER)
-we then went and bought trex wood (plastic coated decking wood) to lay ontop of the slider.
-make sure when you cut it, you also take in account the transition once again, so you have a nice ride up onto the slider.
-screw all that in and your pretty much done man!
- to make it nice, we lined the sides of the slider with plywood (or a thicker material) so that it looked all pretty and was a tad bit safer, so you cant catch a pole if you fall off. that also accounts for sturdiness
- if you dont want to do that, you can just nail 2x4s onto one or both sides of the slider under the 2x4s ontop of the slider against the post in the ground.

Hoped all this helped! Smile

sounds like alot of work. another option is to just make one where it has triangular supports, and stake them into the sand wherever you go. you can build it on land and not have to worry about losing stuff in the water, plus it's lightweight and portable. here these are the pictures of our 24. i'd suggest making it 32 feet or even 2 24 foot sections that you can connect.

although it is alot of work (but it doesnt take long if you know what you are doing) it is completely worth it. This slider shows NO signs of ware. You should see our A-Frame, we have a mini then a large.

Mini is 15x18x15 (fifteen foot board up onto the slider, 18 feet across then 15 foot board down) overall langth is about 46 ft due to incline.

You should see our large one. 20 feet onto, 45 feet arcoss 10 down. it's SWEET!
