ok in other threads, i have read about people that have a boat that throws out a "washed wake". my question is what does that mean, and also what difference does it make if you have a washy wake or a nonwashy wake....
just wondering _________________ my new signature |

| A washy wake is one that is not real rampy and feels real soft when you hit it. It usually when there is too much weight in the front, correct me if I'm wrong. |

and too much weight on one side vs. the other (uneven I mean) the wake on the side opposite of the most heavily weighted will wash also. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

Weight in the front will help clear up the wake if the wake is curling over or too washy along the entire wake. If it's just one side or the other, savage is correct, there might be too much weight on one side or the other. In that case, move your friends around until you get a smooth wake on both sides. _________________ So, I've got that goin' for me...which is nice! |

| its when the wake has no ramp to it. its almost like a wave at an ocean after its already curled and its washing towards the shore. i know its a bad example but thats all i could think of. |

so if you have a majority of the riders in the back it will create a washy wake _________________ R.I.P. M. Legge

not necesarily...if you have TOO much in the back. sometimes you have to experiment. one time when we rode behind a supersport nautique (DD) we had 2 600s in the back and a driver a passenger in the passenger side and 3 people sitting on the back seat/sac. the wake was not washy, it was awesome _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

| Every boat has a slightly different wieght ratio but a 60 / 40 is generally the rule of thumb. But also if your riding behind a naut. or other wake/ski boat your "washy wake" could mostly be atributed to wieght distribution, but if its a i/o you may have to adjust the lenth of rope and sometimes speed to clean up the wake. When i started it was behind a bayliner and we rode at about 50' back, it was the only place the wake was descent. But get up to speed (about 20/21) and look to see were your wake starts to break. You should be hitting the wake just in front of that section. |
