Does anyone else have this boat? If so, how do you weight it, etc... _________________ Got premier? |

I've got a 01' Elite BR and am wondering the same thing. I'm looking into installing a 3 bag ballast system this spring. I'd really like to hear from someone that has already done it to this boat and let me know if 3 bags (1000lbs total) is plenty and if the wake is any good. |

Mike - do you have the ballast tank in the back under the trunk? currently I have that tank, plus another 375 sac thats like 3/4 full (not deep enough ski-locker to fill it), one 250 sac on each side of the engine, and 260 up front.. total im at around 1200lbs with a nice clean wake. _________________ Got premier? |

1200lbs plus a few people works out good, i would throw like 2000lbs of ballast but #1 i dont like to put that much strain on the engine when im perectly happy with my current wake and #2 i'd be paranoid... they sit low like sangers _________________ Got premier? |

| I don't have any ballast at this time. I have talked with a rep from Fineline about getting the stock rear ballast system that came as the Air Warrior package. The problem is then I would loose all of the rear storage but it is probably worth it. Do you know how much weight the stock bladder is? |

| How are you going to fit that much in the back storage area? Mine is only about 10-12" deep at best. |

Well, right now i have like 8 inches of space because of the stock ballast tank. In the 99 model you can remove the pannel in the rear trunk, take out the stock tank and put anything you want back there. The stock tank was 250lbs.... What a waste!!! Took it out and put a 600 back there _________________ Got premier? |

| Wakehype, i just purchaced a 00' centurion eclipse, is the rear trunk in the elite similar? i thought i could stash a big sac bak there, but undernneath the panel in the eclipse is the gas tank. i only have 10-12 in of space, is there a sac that would fit. i need help, this is all new to me. |

There is still room behind the gas tank on my Centurion. Maybe that is because I got the stock ballast tank option, which doesnt really help much. _________________ Got premier? |

| The Elite storage is bigger than the storage on the Eclipse. I wouldn't put a bag on top of the gas tank in the Eclipse. I don't think you would want that much pressure on the tank. |

The storage in a 2001 and newer elite is only longer and a bit wider
it is no deeper. The factory ballast on a 2001 and newer elite rests on a board
that rests on the gas tank |

krbaugh,
Do you have an Elite? If so do you think that the ballast system is worthwhile? I've got an 01 and want to add the stock ballast that will sit on top of the gas tank. I hate that all the rear storage will be lost but if the 400lbs helps then I'm all for it. |

No I don't have an elite but I have driven one with the ballast. It does help. If you don't want to go for a fat seat or other bags I would go for the ballast in the trunk.
The factory ballast weighs 432lbs. There is also a 153 lbs ballast that goes in the front storage. I would go for both |

Do you know who supplies the front ballast? Fineline?
What boat do you have? It looks like the elite, or is it the eclispe? |

| So how do you like your boat? Do you have any regrets over buying it rather than another brand? I see that Kstateskier has pretty much the same boat. THe black and white looks nice. |

MikeH,
Ours is actually navy blue with Silver flake, very classy up close. Ours is an '03 and Kevin's is an '02, I don't think their is much different, as only a few things changed from our '02 like carpet upgrade and "Bob LaPoint" is sewn in the read seat. Ours is actually the Eclipse LaPoint, I think Kevin's is just an Eclipse, though even as a promo person I can't really tell you the difference. Kevin is lucky he gets to have the bigger motor though and a tower! Jealous Those dang AWSA regulations! |

| Kstate - are you a pro skier on the tour or???? From your profile it's hard to tell that your boat was navy. Mine is the nearly that same color as well. SO what is the weather like there at this time? Can you get out on the water or do you have to wait awhile longer? |

Mike, I wish I was on the pro tour. Just part of the promo program, take the boat to x number of tournaments each year and upgrade every year. Kevin is in the same type of plan.
Right now it is 12F. We had some bad freezing rain yesterday that caused some problems. Supposed to be 52 tomorrow and 64 Friday, 44 and drizzle Saturday, and 31 and snow Sunday. Got to love Kansas. We're doing a fundraiser for the Kansas State Ski Team though so we'll be out on the water Saturday snow, sleet, whatever. |

Kevin,
Kris Here Thanks again for the color help. Boat should be here in April. I saw that you said centurion makes a bow ballast? Was that aftermarket or through them? Was that just for a closed bow? I'm curious cause noone has mentioned that to me and while it's still at the factory if it comes from fineline I would see if they could add it in. This would save me some time on doing it myself and the boat would be ready to go.

No problem! The front ballast is an option on the Elite Bow Rider and the La Point. IT goes in the front storage to help level the boat for those slalom junkies without a bunch of observers. I don't know why it could not be mounted in the Hurricane.....after all its just a sack same hose and pumps
Mike the LApoint and Eclipse have a few minor hull tweaks....My eclipse has those tweaks just no La Point sticker...... and of course there is that Engine and tower thing |
