Hopefully you guys can be of assistance. We are trying to draw up ideas for the most efficient way of getting a decent slider from home to the lake. We board a lake that is fairly well patrolled by DNR so leaving it there is not an option.

Is there a way to make a decent slider without having those huge 55gal buckets?

This will be our first slider so I don't suppose we have to make some huge, extravagent creation......

Thoughts?

yeah, that is what we did. just screw a couple pieces of plywood to the jugs and put some tileboard on top of the plywood. anchor the whole thing down and there ya go. a slider!

it is pretty stable. if you get too far to one side of it you will slide off but that is it.

not with this one. my buddy had a stationary one and he had to take it down. we just ride this one out infront of his house. no one really bothers us there.

Hmm. Maybe it would be more of a weekday slider. Our late gets pretty busy on the weekends. Sherriff is almost a guarantee.

that is how ours is too. they are more worried with people drinking than anything else. you never see them on the weekdays though.

they are really easy to build. you can also get one or two of those blow up air mattresses and tie down a couple pieces of plywood with pvc screwed to it and there you go. that one can easily be transported, just deflate and inflate. im sure someone has diagrams up.

See I was thinking of making that setup for a towable. Then you can put a little hidden compartment for a 6er. Then while boarding you can go at it half-@$$ed and land on the mattress...sit down...rest....crack beer...drink beer...get up...throw tantrum over slider...achieve god-like status...collect the ladies.

we made a slider thats 30 foot long, 2 15 ft sections. connected by 2 big clamps and the posts are removable from the actual slider frame so it just all comes apart and we can throw it in the boat. not a bad setup. when we are lazy we just hide it in the woods.
