Have you seen the interior on this boat? WOW, looks super plush. I bet the wake out of these things is better than the 22SSV, this hull is the shizz.
Photo cred to Marty McFly.

I know the same company owns supra and moomba. So, Do supras and moombas have the share hulls. I would guess that this is the same as a moomba lsv but not sure. Someone enlighten me if i am close to right here or way off.

Alot of people think that. Supra and Moomba have totally different hulls. The Launch 21V shares hulls with the Launch, now renamed the launch 21.

Nanista,

They did make some small changes on the panel.

they are owned by the same company though, right. I dont understand if one hull is bette than the other they dont just make one hull with different options kinda like a chevy tahoe compared to a cadilac escalade. The primary parts are all the same just the options and name is different. If the supra hull is better why dont they just do away with the moomba hull and use the supra with the moomba options, interiors.

Yes, Moomba and Supra are owned by Skiers Choice. The Supra hulls aren't necessarily better than the Moomba. In my opinion, Moomba just makes their hulls to do both skiing and wakeboarding very well with exception to the XLV. The Supra hulls are more dedicated to one sport. You are right, the Primary parts are exactly the same. The Supras just have a lot more stailess features, 40 oz. carpet, more foam, and come standard with a lot of options that you can get on a Moomba. They will not do away with the Moomba hulls because their hulls are what make them unique.

so what is the difference in price and wake of a supra 21v and a moomba lsv. I am still not sure it looks to me like there is a minimal difference in size of the boats .

The 21V starts at $40995 and the Mobius LSV starts at $32495. The Moomba is 20' 8". The Supra is 21'2". The Supra has A LOT deeper hull than the Moomba and the beam on the Supra is 98" and the Moomba 95".

The wake is not too far different from each other as far as the shape. The Supra does weigh 400 lbs more. The hull on the Supra is a little better for wakeboarding as well. The transitition and lip is a lot higher than the Moomba. It gives you crazy pop.

Remember, with the Supras you get tandem trailers, stainless features, stereo, MPI engine, board racks, wakeplate, depth finder, and a better "look". Some people think it is worth the extra money. Some do not. Personally I could go either way and be happy.

Thank you Jon for providing what seems to be accurate base MSRP on the 21V! I have asked on the "other" forum and no one seemed to have accurate stats. That is not a bad base price -- add a heater and perfect pass and I'll buy one! One last question - is there any kind of credit if all you want is a single axle trailer?

Great pics guys. I will more than likely be running the Launch 21V for '05 as well.

Jon, double check your price list Wink

The Launch 21V starts at $43,995 while the Launch 21 (Direct Drive Version in my profile) starts at $40,995. But your pricing on the LSV is correct.

Lizrd-We will have that model at our demo this weekend. The single axle trailer is only available on the Comp LTS/Launch LTS for the Supra line and is not available for the other Supra's. After many road trips with Boatmate's tandem, I don't think I can go back to a single.

Hey Chris, that boat sucks, get a real boat! Laughing J/K Sick boat, you are giving me buyers remorse! Can I trade a practically new SSV for one of those?
As for colors, I think yellow would be good, then again, I'm kinda partial to yellow.

Tiffanator, You should post a pic of you boat hooked up to your truck, that looks like an awesome setup. Can your ranger pull a boat that size? I used a ranger to pull my old 19 footer but it struggled and I had the 4.0 liter.

Here is mine...I spent all weekend in the 21V and the 24SSV trying to get them right..by Sunday evening, we had both boats dialed in with the weight and speed correct, and both wakes were unreal. I am very, very impressed!

McFly, I just bought an 05' 22ssv and the dealer threw in the floating mirror arm. However, the clamp that came with it is to small. Can you let me know where to get the correct size? Also, it would be great if you could give me some of your weight, rope length, and speed results. I am still having a problem with producing the perfect wake.

Thanks,

JJ

It would be nice if you could give us some of the details on the weighting and a comparison of the two wakes.

I currently have a Moomba XLV which I love but these new Supras look awesome. If only they had a larger Supra one year ago.

JJ, the correct size is 2 and 3/8 inch. Which brand was the mirror?

Both wakes are incredible..along with boat boats for that matter..tons of storage, hidden compartments and great comfort. We had 11 people in the 24SSV with one rider and there were still empty seats!

The best feature of the new boats are the swivel board racks by far! I used them all weekend. Especially when we pulled up to the marina or to other boats, or putting the boat in the slip..just turn the board racks into the boat and you have no worries.

The tower is super sturdy. Driving across the chop with all 4 board racks full, and we had very very little sway in the tower. It was super sweet!

As far as the wakes go, the 24 was huge. It was narrow like a 21 foot wake, but had incredible lift. When riding in the boat, you notice a little rip curl on each side of the wake that comes up and forms the lip on the wake. It was a weird looking shape, but it was very user friendly, and it threw you where you wanted to go. We had the stock ballast full with the wake plate half way. I can't wait to try the bigger ballast in there!

The 21V was unreal as well. We spent 2 days with this boat trying to get the wake right. We found that, this boat at about 23mph with the front gravity bag full and the rear ones about 3/4 full will produce a tremendous wake. Again, we ran the wake plate at the half way point.

The surf wake on the 21V was very nice too...it was very steep, but it was very long. You could get much much farther away from the swim platform on this boat than on the 22SSV. The 22SSV surf wake is very tall and fat, which makes spin tricks fun. The 21V is very long which helps with slashes and cuts and allows you to build more speed.

I am going to play more with the 21V over the next few days. I will keep you posted.

McFly

Does the 21V wake performance exceed the 22SSV in your opinion?

In my opinion, I like the shape better of the 21V. Also, at the speed and line length in which I ride, the wake on the 21V seemed bigger to me than the 22SSV.

However, the great thing about it is that you can't go wrong with the 21V, the 22SSV or the 24SSV. The wakes are all big and clean.

How do the wakes compare to the Moomba XLV with Gravity Games bags (what I have now)? It's really the only skiers choice boat that I have a good feel for the wake.

I got a pull behind the 24SSV and was VERY impressed! It has a really nice wake especially considering it is a 24' boat. It had a good lip and like Marty said, it had plenty of pop. I would say even more so than the Moomba 23 XLV. I didn't get a pull on the 21V but everyone sounded pretty happy with it. Both are very nice boats, with great looks, nice interiors, sturdy towers, all around good looking and performing boats. Good additions to the Supra line!

The pictures are of the 21V and the SSV running back to the marina.

I like colors for a beach car or boat to remind me of summer:

Supra's and MC's have the best colors IMO

AbsoluteRida, Would you mind expanding a little bit about your experience? What speed/weight configuration/wakeplate setting, etc, etc.
I spent ALOT of time this weekend in and around this boat...and don't think I could make the wake 'sucky' if I tried. But tell us more about your experience.

AbsoluteRida...

You must be kidding??? Why dont you come up with some documentation on this subject, (What model, weight, people, wakeplate etc..etc..etc) before just saying the wake was bad.. Obviously being 14years old, you must have ridden on every make and model by now..right???
