I've never drove one myself, so someone that has will probably give a better description. Okay you're driving straight, you turn the wheel really quick one direction and right back to straight, then you drive a double-up making the intersection in the right place so that the wake from that quick turn lines up right.

if you can't spell triple up correctly, you probably have no chance of ever doing it or hitting it right.

the idea of a triple up is sweet, but trying to do it would waste so many hours and just end up pointless in the end. most drivers dont understand the concept of a double-up, never mind adding another up to the mixture.

If someone isn't satisfied with double-ups they must be pretty darn good at wakeboarding.

If you ride behind a nice boat, triple ups really aren't necessary. However, if you ride behind a boat with a small wake (like I do), they are quite nice. My friends and I don't even drive doubleups behind our boats anymore. It's kind of hard to explain, so a diagram will make it a lot easier. I'll draw one out now, as a matter of fact.

I wouldn't want to go through all the trouble of turning here and there and then get my timing wrong and miss it. Don't get me wrong though, If its hit perfect its awesome.

These instructions are for a right triple up. Just reverse everything for a left one.

1. Slow down- this alone helps out quite a bit.
2. Make a 90deg. turn to the left (this isn't necessary for the triple up itself, but it helps you send the rollers in the right direction so you can come back through the same path)
3. Make your "kink"- I've found that turning a gradual left, followed by quicker right turn makes the biggest set of rollers.
4. Turn back to the left again- this is necessary because it makes the big triple up rollers straight. If you don't do this, when you drive through the triple up rollers they will be curved, making it much more difficult to hit.
5. Make your bigger 270deg. turn just like a normal doubleup, aiming for the left side of the big rollers. If you've driven it correctly, the big rollers should only be about 20ft. long. That is, you should see a set of huge rollers with much smaller ones to either side. (Note, during the 270deg. turn, I find it helpful to straighten out for a few seconds after the first 90deg. This gives you a little more time to judge the right speed and angle when you come around, which can be a little difficult to do if you don't drive the kink exactly the same way every time.)
6. Cheer for your rider when he goes huge!

Confusing. Is the kink what makes the 2 sets of rollers collide? And in the diagram is shows the final step is to the side of the colliding rollers?

The set of triple up rollers is short, so if you drive right through the middle of it, your wake will actually intersect it in a smaller point. Hence, you should drive a little left of center to make it the biggest, and to spare your passengers' dental work. And yes, the kink is the key to the triple up. It creates the really big rollers. Although I should say that it isn't really two sets of rollers colliding. The two sets sort of merge together, so it's not like you have to time hitting two sets of rollers and the doubleup.

Oh, and one other note. If your kink is too uneven (if you spend a longer time turning one direction than the other), it can send the rollers in a weird direction.

They are great, nothing like watching a wave break over the board as you punch through! Pretty hard to control though!

i tried one at norris....obviously dad wasnt payin attention to the speed cuz i sunk when i tried to hit the wake but he did drive it right....wake was massive...

i did land my method grab off a double up tho...i know it might not be a big feat for some of ya but it was HUGE....i landed 10 feet out in the flats ....ppl in the boat were goin crazy.

of course they were all wasted so they didnt remeber it but i did and it was cool.

With tups, i find when u begin the turn you should have the boat 5mph higher then normal speed because u have to turn around SO SHARP that you will loose 5 mph.

Speeding up seems kind of self-defeating. In my experience, if you have to turn so sharp that your boat can't get back up to speed, you're probably making your kink too extreme (although it may seem to make the rollers bigger, they will die out much faster with a really tight kink).

No it works better, the tighter you kink the biger the rollers, its worth it, theirs nothing wrong with it if you can time it in the tight turn (which i can) then you can get booted because your die into waves so high you cannot see the boat,

TY540
looking at the diagram for the triple up i head straight for the middle of the kink otherwise the rider finds it really hard to get into. it makes it far easier to ride it. if i was on the back with that diagram i wouldnt even attempt it. Not saying yours is wrong at all just saying not the way i do it.

If i am driving i will head for the biggest block of water as i come around and just head straight for the middle. just under 90.

Keep in mind the fact that I'm driving this with a 19ft. outboard with no weight in it, so the goal is to make it as big as possible. In a properly weighted wakeboard boat, triple ups really aren't necessary. However, on the rare occasion when I drive one in a nice boat, there are a few steps I take to mellow it out.

1. Less of an angle (more open/not as close to 90deg)
2. Maintain speed throughout
3. Smaller, tighter kink

I usually aim for the side, because it prevents the boat, passengers, and boards in racks from getting slammed really hard.

Obviously IF you read the mag you would know right out of parks' mouth came the words: "thisis the first time guys could charge at double and tripple ups head on" So obviously you need to go back to your hole before you get banned again.

Why don't you grow up, Obviously you are retarded you call me out about a tantrum then if i say i can land it you say it don meananything, well look whos callingme a 15 year old punk bitch, lets see im not fifteen im no a punk and i get more from YOUR bitch then you ever could.
