Confused We need help....We just bought a wakeboard tower. We also ordered wakeboard tower speakers. Now on installing them????We want to keep our current inside boat speakers and add our new Pioneer Alum. front/back speakers to the wakeboard tower. The Pioneer speaker are 150w each (front/back) 300w per speaker so 600w for pair, current inside boat speakers are 125w each, 250 for pair, so for all speakers 850 Watts. We know we need an amp. What size??? And how do you wire and install the speakers to the amp to the stero system????? A local electronic store would install for $300.00 ( without amp, just labor). I thought that was a bit much....So I am looking for some experienced wakerboarders to help me out. My husband "thinks" he knows how to do it...... You know how that goes... I would appreciate anyone's knowledge on this topic... Thanks from 2 newbies from Pittsburgh.....

Not to sound like a jerk, but with all the questions you just asked.....
pay the $300. The wiring is not difficult but your experince will show on the installation.

I agree. Shocked

If you do have a Idea then the first thing is that you will need two amps. one for the tower, 600watts (look at the rmfs also) 2 channel or a 4 channel if you can shove all the wire in the tower. The two in the boat need a 240 or better yet put a 300 watt.
Good luck. you may want to find a friend that has done a few install to help you. Shocked

If money is an issue you could do it with one amp just for the tower speakers and run the boat speakers off the deck power. This is how I am setting mine up. I am putting a toggle switch in the remote wire to the amp. When I am cruising or boarding i will turn it on to power the tower speakers. When I am sitting I can turn off the amp to reduce the power draw off the battery and just add a little bit of background music.

I hope this helps and does not sound confusing.

This is news to me. If the amp is powered down and there is no output to the speakers, how will this blow the speakers??
