i just landed my first raley yesterday and this is what i did.
1)Try it untill you get hurt
2)I started small letting my feet go back just a little bit at first and then started laying it out more and more.
3)when you pull it back in think more about pushing the handle down to the water and not so much pulling it back to you, swing you knees to the handle as you are pushing it down.
4)If you are getting fully extented and then can't bring it back, you are probably pushing the board back too hard off the wake. It doesnt take that much to get the board behind you, just a lot of courage.
Anyway I hope this helps in some way _________________ www.nationsfoundation.org

| you are not ready for a raley. first there are no backflips in wakeboarding the closest thing is a tantrum. second you should have a couple inverts and 360's under your belt before you go for a raley. and third you need to learn how to spell R A L E Y. |

hey, I got rallied on the wakeboard last weekend - does that spelling count?
But seriously - do it on a trampoline with the rope tied to a tree. It's actually a totally natural feeling trick, and it's easier than a wakeroll or tantrum. If you throw it right, it will bring itself down.
Go buy Higher Education on DVD - it goes into pretty good depth on exactly how to do it - but you should for sure try it on the trampoline before you destroy yourself trying it behind the boat without have the correct feeling.

I don't think Chicken was bragging, I think he was correcting you.
The last thing this sport needs is another Yahoo that doesn't care enough about the sport to learn proper terminology. When you play football and score a touchdown do you call it a home run? NO! cuz you would look like a TOOL.
And for the record it's a backroll no matter how you look at it or see from the boat! I'm Rick James Bitch!
I'll give you some credit at least you didn't call it the Superman trick... _________________ PEACE

Tyler~Moore, yeah T I know but I chalked that up to poor spelling...
I want to puke every time some kids walks in the shop and starts telling us how he does the superman behind his daddy's boat.
Get educated about the sport people, show some passion for what you do. _________________ PEACE

You have the benefit of singing on to a FREE website, and getting FREE advice from people who actually know what they're talking about. So when you post a disjointed, mispelled question referring to tricks using improper terminology it is harder for people to help you. By surfing this site for 15 minutes you could have easily figured out the correct names of these tricks, and gotten much more constructive responses. Since you're too lazy to do that, you got constructive responses about terminology that will help you recieve better advice. However the responses you will get after your last post will contain only constructive critisism about how much of a TOOL you are... so good luck with the "ralee" and maybe when you have some respect for the sport you will get respect in return _________________ UCSB Waterski Team |

| im hoping this thread is a joke. if you want wakeboard tricks to have the same names as gymnastic mfes go ahead but personally i dont want to do aerial cartwheels behind the boat. |

| hey raider, does he really sing on a free website for wakeboarding tips? who cares how people spell, just help them by being nice and really showing how good you are by teaching people. That is how you are helpful and respected. I suck myself, but enjoy reading and trying to get better. Now, I can probably bench a little more than a few people on here. LOL. Except my big ass bites hard when landing. |

How does this whole forum go from a guy looking for a trick tip (even though he doesn't use proper terminology) to someone using improper english to try to insult somebody's mom?? Why aren't most of these people grateful to ride and just have fun with such a great sport? _________________ YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWW!!!! |

I know someone who learned raleys before any other invert and he couldn't clear the wakes toeside.
Also, if it takes more than 3 tries to land one, then you aren't ready yet. It's a pretty easy trick, the hardest part is getting over the whole mental thing of risking breaking yourself in half. Try them off a wakeskate, or if you dont' have one just take the bindings off your board and use your board as a wakeskate. It helped me a lot. |

Just to let ya'll know, a Raley is the easiest trick in my bag. It might not seem easy, but once you get used to them, they are quit simple. I learned a Tantrum first, and now I have landed a backroll. a raley is just one of those tricks you gotta hit with alot of speed and you cant be scarred, once you get past those two, then your golden. Practice on a wakeskate. Thats my best advice! LOL _________________

yea i havent landed a raley yet, but i can tantrum, and backroll from ts and hs, im sooo close to a roll2revert, so if anyone has tips on those please let me know, and i plan on trying a raley as soon as this icyhot stuff sets in and my elbow quits hurting but from my expeirences, hit the wake really fast and the board will go up by itself look at the boat, when you pull back in,bring yer chest up and pull the rope to yer knees, ive landed only one before then i tried it again and got water up just about everything and a huge headache and i lost them....so good luck to you guys and the original poster on this thing needs to be shot _________________ Pain is just a figment of imagination

liquid_helix136, you basically have it for the raley
On that r2r, do huge hs 180's, and then the landing will be a ton easier. Are you landing and washing out? |
