|
|
| Alright the speedo's are acting up again and I was wondering if anyone knew how to blow them out and clear them. No responses like "get perfect pass dude and you wont have that problem", I know but that is not an option right now. So any help is greatly apprecieated.

If you have an air compressor it's a piece-o-cake (you'll need the "spray" attachment, perferably a rubber tip)
You disconnect the line at the pick-up - unscrew the cap that hold the line tight to the pick up - pull the line back exposing the nipple on the pick up - use the compressor to blow out the pick up (this is what jams up)
You may have to take the pick ups off the boat (two screws each) but they do move around a bit, so you probably won't have to

Please remember NOT to blow air towards the speedo units in the dash. Always blow air towards the pitot end.
Also, A bicycle pump will work fine too.
Compressor line pressure need not be more than 15 lbs.

I have 3 small drill bits on the boat at all times. When the speedo stops I wait for the rider to fall then clean them out. ITs pretty easy to just lay on the platform and poke the debrea out.

Wow, what a sausage fest here.
A bobby pin also works. Grab one from the gal next to you

OK, where the hose connects to the pitot ( pee-tot ), run the blower/wire down towards the water pickup end.
Also, many times there is just a piece of gunk at the water pick up end.
