Recently I've been getting nostalgic for the good old days of wakeboarding, you know when every wakeboarder had long hair, small wakes, directional boards, heavy metal playing in cassette deck, bungee strap bindings, phasers on the bottom of their board, wakeskating was only fooling about, raleys were advanced tricks, no towers, narrower boats, TS was called FS and HS was called BS, Byerly wore bindings and nobody knew what wakeboarding was! Did I miss anything?

hahahaha, the problem is most of us are too young to remember such days (I am one of them) and I sure would love to hear some more of that heavy metal comin on back!

No, it can't be DA MOOSE. Please note the use of lower case letters, commas, and other punctuation that tends to distinguish normal users from DA MOOSE.

I am glad that wakeboarding has progressed. This is probably because the first time I ever saw a guy wakeboard, he did a fashion air and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. When I look back on that, I feel ashamed of myself. Granted, I was only 12 or so, but still... what I wally I was.

I have an old vhs video of me getting up on a skurfer launch in 1988. The board, my shorts, and my gloves and jacket all were HOT Pink or had it on them. I would have been in style today!!! Mr. Green

Man I wish it was still like that. Then I wouldn't feel so lame with my lame board, Mastercraft Monarch with an outboard motor, horrible wake, and heavy metal blastin out my boombox until the battery runs out. If you wanna go back to this world, and wanna trade your nice wakeboarding boat and board with my setup I will gladly make a deal with you Wink

Josh R. Can you name all the guys in the Connelly ad at the end of your post? Are they Jeremy Kovak, Shannon Best, Shannon Starling and a young Zane Schwenk?

Josh R, LMAO... "pardon me while I whip this out!!!" (I know you guys know what movie that is from).

BrandonC, dude, I was thinking the same damn thing... (the three guys Colorful picture)

I would like to start a vote. What does everyone think the single most important advancment in wakeboarding/watersports has been since the erra of the above pictures?

I vote for board shorts!!!!!
