I've been on a health kick and have been getting back into shape and it's occured to me that I might get to a point where I'm too small for my board.
I got my '03 Byerly 142 when I was approx 210 (5'9" BTW) and now I'm at 190 with goals of being down to 175.
I'm not in need for a new board yet. But when the time comes, should I look at smaller boards?
Thanks

I had similar thoughts, when going from about 195, down to my current weight of 180 depending on the day. My goal is 170 but I am staying with a 138cm board. In my opinion you may consider going down a bit. From your height and weight it sounds like 142 was a bit too big even back at the 210 range.
So, to answer your question, yes you may want to consider something in the 138 range. I am similar in size and stature to you and I find the 138-139 boards to be great, maybe even a smidge too big even. |

| Don't you find a bigger board like that harder to whip around being 5'9? Just curious. |

| I'm 5'11 and occasionally I do feel like even 138 is big. But I really think the bigger board makes landings softer. I could be wrong. I'm temped to go smaller than 138, don't get me wrong... I do think his 142 is too big though. |

I ride the Byerly 142 and I'm 6'2", 220.
Seems to ride fine (atleast for my ability level) |

if you like it, stick with it. I'm 5'8 150 an drode a premier 140 for a summer and loved it. Of coarse now i have an absolute 134, and sure it's a little easier to tweak, and spin, etc... but the premier had it's benefits, including softer landings _________________ UCSB Waterski Team |

I did the same thing. I was 240 and I got down to 175. I used to ride a 143 but now I ride a 140 absolute. I demoed a 138 Substance and I liked the smaller feel. Congrats on your weight loss. Buying all new clothes twice cost more than buy a new size board |
