I tell you all, CWB will not stop impressing me this year. Yet another great board!
First, let me tell you what conditions I was in: glass to light chop, behind a Calabria Pro-V (wide wake). Bindings were some brand new Scarecrows which were NOT broken in (read: hurt my feet!!!).
Second, it seems to me that this board was intended to be in direct competition with the HL Parks 143, so I will make comparison here and there as I am quite familiar with that "board".
So here goes:
The Transcend (if you didnt already know) has something like 3.10" of rocker, but is a subtle three-stage, so it doesn't just toss your A in the air as the Parks does. The transition is totally smooth, but when you go up, you go UP! Landings (when I wasn't casing the wake) we like butta, warm butta at that - just so nice. This board slides out with no problem, but the second you put it on edge it locks in. It has no molded in fins, but includes some very small 0.5" (my estimate) shaped fins that basically emulate a molded in as they were designed to fit the contours of this board. Once on edge the board was not the fastest (see 3.1" rocker!), but I am sure after a few sets this will not be a problem - you just need to be used to the slower speed - this is quite unlike the Parks, but it does allow for better takeoffs without that "tossed" feeling. The board overall felt very light on my feet, allowing for super easy ollies, grabs, and I am sure spins (didn't attempt).
Another two thumbs up board according to me! For all you that might look at the Parks as some mystical wonder of pop, you really, and I mean really should demo this board. I promise you, you will be yet another CWB convert! _________________

another comparison....
i've ridden an 03 absolute 140 for about two seasons, i demoed the 138 transcend for a few days, what chavez has written is spot on. When compared to the absolute, the transcend is a bit slower, so you'll have to be a little more agressive with your cuts/speed. The pop is excellent, it has a very stable feel to it maybe a little more predictable than the absolute. Breaks loose easily, landings are nice, and casing the wake isn't as harsh as you would imagine. _________________ www.under360.com |

| Have any of you tried the Prodigy? It has a huge rocker like the Transcend and is pretty fast on the water. |

jwat142, I will make a point to roll out the 05 Prodigy next time - with bindings that FIT! _________________

| I actually ride the '04 Prodigy 140 right now and love it. I ride it with the biggest fin and it is still plenty loose. I saw the '05 Prodigy this weekend at the Vans Triple Crown in Indianapolis. The shape for this year is exactly the same except I guess they added a little bit more rocker. Personally, I think the 3.0" of rocker they offered on the '04 was plenty, but who knows. |

jwat142, I stil have an old prodigy 140 platinum, and if you find that board fast you would love the transcend, for me the feel is similar and the speed to. The transcend is more predictable in my opinion but ride realy close to the old prodigy...didn't ride the prodigy 2004 so I can't compare... _________________ Money is a most in this damn zoo |
