I've been riding with my husbands board and bindings for 1 month now ( new to get up, and finally learned w2w yippie) I've never learned a boardsport before and so much of this is a$$ward foriegn to me (aka very slow learner). I noticed that my calves and toes are pretty snug, but my ankles have a lot of play, and with these bindings, I can't adjust anything more to make them snug and prevent my feet from slipping through the toes. I do have rediculously narrow ankles, is that the way ALL bindings fit, or is there a better one for my problem, or am i just complaining because I want my own board and bindings? hmmmm. (that would be a good argument). thanks for any advise.

your bindings are supposed to be snug all around. not tight and cramped and not loose to allow you to move. what type of bindings are you using? youre gonna need your own set up if you want a customzed fit. if you let others use your bindings they will get stretched out and not fit as well. try some bindings on and see if you like any. all bindings are made different and im sure you wil be able to find one that fits your foot.

I agree with The Headless Chicken, you need bindings that fit your foot. They should fit like a sock, overall tight in all spots. If you have trouble with your ankels moving around maybe look into some bindings with straps like the Nice PRS3s which are made for women and have the ankle strap for to keep your heel secure.

With small ankles/feet, it can be hard to find good fitting bindings (I know this after trying just about every binding ever made). In all honesty though, don't just settle for something that is "okay" or "will work", and never settile on a binding because it says it's a "woman's binding". If you're able to, try on any and every binding at a store. When I tried bindings on, I'd get them on, have somebody step on the sides to hold them down and basically lean over really far to see if I could get my foot to pop out. If my heel moved much, or if my foot popped out completely, then I'd say they were too big and move onto the next binding. When I found a binding I liked and thought might work, I would try to demo them.

You basically want them to be snug, but not so snug that it hurts alot (your feet should not be numb). Keep in mind though that your bindings will stretch out as you use them over time.

Either you have big feet, or hubby has small ones... My wife could put both of her feet into one of my bindings if she tried hard enough. I'm guessing you need your own gear!

I realize I do need my own setup, any suggestions on board lenght? I am 5'9" and 175, I thought that since my husband and my self are the same Hight and weight we could get away with similar equiptment, but that was ok for JUST learning, now we are serious beginers, it's time for more investments. I have no idea what the length is that I use now, and don't know about the bindings....we bought them used from a local pro, ignorance is not bliss.

You should look into 132-138 or maybe even up to 140. Specifics I'd go with a 136 or something around there.
