|
|
So we have been using a MasterCraft 190 with one fat sak in the back. Well just this evening we had the opportunity to go out on a boat with a much steeper and taller wake. We liked it alot
Is there anyway to create a better wake with a MasterCraft 190 or should we start looking at getting another boat?

put in some more ballast and remember to also add some weight in the front (into the bow).

| I have a 87 190 and I will not ride unless I have atleast 1500 lbs of ballast in it. With that much weight and people you sould be able to throw a big enough wake to do what ever you want.

and where do you place that ballast?
Just wondering because I installed a custom weight system with some weight in the bow and some more weight in the back...

I have a PS190 aswell.. weight is key.. I just got mine so I'm still dialing in the wake. Here is a shot at 22mph w/ approx 1000lbs.. b/c they are a small boat they are pretty touchy w/ weight placement.. if anyone has an ideal set-up for a ps190 please share.!!

| I've found that when weighing a 190, A big sack goes well in the back and have two smaller sacks (1 per each side of the engine) cover. That has been found to distribute the weight nicely and give the Mastercraft 190 a nice wake. Some weight in the bow will also help too with the weight disrtrbution, creating a nice sized wake.

I have a 1998 sportstar which is the same as a 1995-1999 prostar 190. I run a 1200 fatseat and a 600lb fatsac on either side of the engine. Everything filled to absolute capacity gives a very nice wake but really drinks gas.
For still a nice and very vertical wake we just fill the fatseat at the back to capacity and half fill the side sacs. This gives you about an extra hour out of the tank, 5 hrs instead of the current 4 and creates a very vertical wake.
here is another picture of the wake

I spent a year behind a 190. the slaom wake just cant be beat..
we had to really load the boat up 8- peps 250's beside the eng and a 5 in the rear.. sacs everywhere.. it was mediocer. we didnt have the nads to put as much weight in it as absolutofft. his wake looks really clean. If your really about wake boarding and in it for the long haul & can swing another boat I would suggest a different boat. If your looking to stay with a cross over boat then put in some fast pumps and add lots of water weight and sac it out like absolutofft's setup .
