I understand that you must stand tall after edging towards the wake. But when i edge in I cant edge while i stand tall i can only do one or the other. everytime i edge into the wake i would feel the board just spring my knees up, but if i stood tall i would stop edgin and jus ride over the wake.
tips would be nice |

Well....I dont stand completely tall, and if you watch video's, nobody else really stands tottally tall either...Basically, well this is what i do and it works fine, as you are cutting in to jump the wake, slowly extend your legs just a slight bit as you get closer to the wake, and keep your legs stiff, and don't let them pop up. If you let them do this, it will up-set you in the air, and you will loose all that speed/energy built up.....Hope i helped somewhat....

pretty much want they mean by standing tall is kind of extending your legs a little bit at the wake so that you do not absorb any of the pop off the wake, and to help generate a little more. but do not try to jup yourself off of the wake, that messes you up bigtime. the little bit that you do use your legs jumps you a whole lot. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

okay, stay on edge and when you get to the peak of the wake straighten your knees, this won't take you of edge if you keep your toes pointed up (hs, heels up for ts) stand tall means stand straight, not bend at the waist or knees, it doesn't mean stand completely vertical. _________________ Some female cows have horns, but you wouldn't really know anything about that now would you? |

Skyline_GT-R, pretty much what everyone else has said is right. The whole point is that you do not want your knees or any other part of your body to absorb the pop from the wake. For most people, the only way to keep from doing this is to constantly tell yourself to stand tall. You have to remember, we go through our entire lives learning to absorb shocks to our bodies by bending our joints, so it is very hard to learn to go against this for wakeboarding... _________________ "There are two things I cannot stand in this world, people who are intolerant of other peoples cultures, and the Dutch" |
