| I wakeboard. I went deep sea fishing in Florida last summer and that was pretty cool but fishing on a lake is just boring. |

| jermey, deer dont move fast eather, well you dont shoot them when they are moving fast, does that make deer hunting a joke. it is probley a joke to you becuase you are in New Zealand, it is a great accomplishment (sp) to get a big 28lb Tom, its the hardest thing to hunt successfully. |

fishing in a lake is fun but here in oregon we have lots of cool rivers to float in drift boats and fish its really really fun. Its a great day to go out on the river and run it catcch some fish drink some beer. its a close 2nd to wakeboarding. _________________ Go Ducks

matt,
Fair call about the deer, but in saying that, you have to stalk them....they have an incredible sense of smell and as they are mammals with reasonably sized brains they are somewhat intelligent. It is fair to say i have never seen a 28lb turkey. I have shot a medium sized turkey before and I cant say that was all that fun.
and to wes,
If fishing on a lake is boring, go trout fishing in New Zealand. Light lines, trout that often reach more than 10lbs and fight on the surface more often than not. I have been doing it all my life, so maybe I'm biased, but i think it is a heap of fun.
PS, love your signature.

Also,
I realise that you guys are probably going at turkeys with a 12 gauge or something similar...so what size shot do you use? and are turkeys difficult to stalk or something in US? Im not mocking Im being serious...maybe they are diff turkeys or something _________________ And if @$$holes could fly, this place would be busier than O'Hare |

Yes... the hardest thing to hunt... undoubtedly!! Deer come in at a close second. The only thing turkey don't have on deer is smell. _________________ If my above post offends you in any way, simply ignore it. If you do not know how to ignore it, complain to me in a PM and I will show you how. |

or you wrap the duck brest in bacon and fry it, thats good with some maranating (sp),
Jermey, yea i go for turkeys with a 12 gauge, i use a remington 870 super mag, my load is remington highspeed 5 shot 3 1/2 inch. Turkey is by far the hardest thing to hunt. your calling has to be perfect and you have to trick up on the birds, with deer, you just have to sit in a stand and have a general idea that there are deeer in the area and wait for a good shot. |

i understand hunting for the purpose of eating, i myself couldn't ever kill an animal unless it was my only means of food. my main issue is with duck hunters. ducks are the dumbest animals ever and most can be hand fed. i fail to see the sport in that? i really don't see that much of a difference between the kid that abuses dogs and cats, and hunters. the way your minds work are the same. i just hope that when you take the life of another creature, you realize it is a life you have taken. _________________ Thats gonna leave a mark!! |

ducks can be hand fed??? not when youre talking about in the wild...you dont shoot them in marinas or anything dude. You can handfeed deer if you tame them first...
I don't know about deer hunting in the US, but in NZ you have to walk (often miles) through dense scrub (obviously depending on what species you are hunting). But you would have to be very lucky to just stand around and wait for a good shot. We have a lot of deer buy I would never say it was easy. Im judging by the fact its a Remington that its a semi auto? Do you have to have a pin in to limit the number of shots or can you just fire 5 or 6? _________________ And if @$$holes could fly, this place would be busier than O'Hare |

| no its not a semi, its a pump, and you have to plug it to only 3 shots, my new gun that i just bought 4 days ago (browning) only holds 2 shots O/U |

Thats a lovely gun matt.
I use a Miroku B10 which I really like and also my dad got me a Cogswell and Harrison side by side from like the early 40s (English gun). Its an awesome gun that gets brought out on certain duck days. _________________ And if @$$holes could fly, this place would be busier than O'Hare |

| Here is SC the laws are weard, the lower state openes before everything else, like turkey opens the 15th, but upper state dosent open till april 1st. with deer the upperstate starts out bow only, then muzzleloader, then shotgun, then rifle, so by the time you get to hunting with the rifle they are already half way through the rut. |
