Hey im new to wakeboarding and want to get really in to it. I know i want a hyperlite and all my friends ride them and they always tell me how good they are and i snowboard and skateboard, so do they an they say that it is close to it and hyperlite is the way to go. Im 5'8 120 lbs and i was wondering what is a good board by hyperlite. i ride a 151 trick snow board and skate a 8-7.75 or 7.5 to 30 skateboard. So... what is a good hyperlite board?

first off. hyperlite isnt the best board company. there is no"best" company. just a bunch of ggod companies that make good boards that you either will or won't like. as far as size goes id say 133-138. whats your price range because boards and bindings get pretty expensive. try some of your friends boards out tell us what you like best and we can guide you from there.

Hyperlite For Life, well by your name you sound a little biased. However, hyperlite does make some excellent wakeboards and theres an great chance that you'll find something that fits your style. Like Headless said, try your friends boards (what are they by the way), and then if you cant find anythig you like go to a local board shop and demo some stuff.

I asked what Hyperlite Boards would be the best not anyother brand this thread isnt supposed to be a flaming thread about the best wakeboard brand. I just want some info on Hyperlites.

Also i can not demo things cause there is no local board shop where i live i would have to drive a ways.

since you are a beginner i would steer you clear away from a parks, try a temet, it will help you to learn switch, and is continuous so you have a nice predictable pop

temets aren't as explosive, but that's still a pro model board. i've ridden both (i have a temet) and i think that even if he rode a parks, it wouldn't make that much difference. especially for a newb cuz he'd never know the difference. after he had a parks though, nothing else would feel right cuz of the pop

exactly...that was my problem, i learned on a parks, and nothing else feels right, everything feels loose and out of control to me... even the byerly i tried today felt like i was sliding on warm butter.... i say the temet because he can experiment with diffrent feels on the water IE loose on one side or tight on the other

You can "demo" hyperlite products at www.trinityboardshop.com Basically, you buy a board and if you dont like it you can return it within 30 days for a full refund with no questions asked. Go to the main page and then in the navigation bar near the top on the right look for "ride free details." Then you can do this with each board until you find one you like, so theres no excuse not to try out a board.

i never said to demo anyhting i said try your friends boards. this would give you an idea of what riding style your gonna have. did it sound like i was starting a flaming thread? cuz if it did dont even read any other posts n the rest of the forums if you dont like flaming. your friends have obviously been sucked up by the hype but you dont have to be. also i never said i didnt like hyperlite. i ride hyperlite board and bindings but i demoed a bunch of stuff form all companies before i settled on the right stuff for me. i just want you to know there is other stuff out there but you obviously dont want to hear it.

i never said

I agree that you should broaden your horizons and consider other boards besides hyperlite, just 'cause you friends have them and like them doesn't mean they are right for you (have your friends ever ridden another brand btw?). Nothing wrong with Hyperlite, I rode one for years and loved it, till I tried something else, Hyperlite is still a great board company, but there are other great board companies too. You might even find something you like better.

I've ridden Hyperlite, Liquid Force and O'Brien boards. I LOOOOOVED my trip but right noe I ride a Premier 130, REALLY nice board. I HATED the parks as you do have to edge like Parks to really ride it. Not saying you can't learn on it but it just makes it harder. I would rec either the Premier 138, the Temet 136 or fluid 137. If you go Liquid Force the search is a great beginner board. You want something that's not too pricy (cause you'll want to trade up) around a 138.
There are so many boards to choose from, see if you can demo, at our local comps you can demo Hyperlites(in Canada) Just don't buy a board because it's "cool"

I would recommend:

CWB Sol
LF Search
HL Motive
OB Custom

As previously stated, HL is not the 'best', there are other companies equally as good. What HYPErlite does have is HYPE, created by an impressive marketing machine and a stable of excellent riders.

Do yourself a favor and don't limit your search to one brand. Wink

Since you snowboard, i recomend the Roam, it is the best wakeboard hyperlite has ever created! LIKE OMG OMG!! HL HL HL!!!!! Laughing

I'm gonna say get what you want, and because talking to you is kinda like talking to a brick wall 'o' ignorance. I will give you one more analogy Do your friends all ride the same snowboards? just beacause someone says somethings the best doesnt mean stuff.

anways lecture over, I doubt that you even read this, or it even registered.

listen to bruky. enough about this 'best' brand thing. if someone asks a question about a certain brand then answer it. it seems every post i read about a certain type of board...the only answer there ever is is dont limit yourself. EVERYTIME. let the person do what they want. if they want to think hyperlite is the best then let them think it

hyperrider, I and others will continue to give that answer because it is the correct one. We will also tell the person every time to DEMO.

A person who is "new to wakeboarding" can and will benefit from this advice. Limiting one's self to only a single brand is doing one's self a severe disservice.
