same thing happened to me , try to keep both hands with the handle as close as you can to your back, that'll help you not to turn the board in the air, and land in the same direction as you went off, and also when you get to the wake try not to jump completely towards the sky, but to jump a little bit angled towards the opposite direction the boat is heading, hope that works for you

When I started, I was having the exact same problem. Probably everyone did. It helps a ton to turn your shoulders towards the wake as youre cutting. This makes for a much more natural feel as youre edging. Also remember that the progressive edge apllies to toeside jumps just as much as it does to heelside.

because we all know thats going to help you with your toeside jumps Rolling Eyes

j/k

Honestly just try keeping the handle close to your waist, keep your head up and look to the shore on your landings.

What help me when I'm having trouble:

1. let your board sink into the water before initiating your turn.
2. before your turn, pull the handle all the way to your front hip. Try to put it on your front butt cheek.
3. hold your edge all the way through. Keep your back straight. If you come off edge, there' s a good chance you're going to do a header.
4. when you leave the wake, keep both hands on the handle and pull yourself across the wake by pulling the handle again to your front hip.
5. when you land if you need to, go ahead and let go with your back hand, but not until you're about to touch the water.

if I can do all of these things simultaneously (rare) it works for me.

if you look in this months issue of wakeboarding mag, there is a drill that shows you how to learn to properly edge.

Lean against the rope, and use a progressive edge through the wake. Land the same way you take off, on your toe edge.
