this one guy i know on lake gaston had the rope coiled around his arm and feeding it out of the boat, and the rope got caught in the prop and cut into his arm, soon it was infected and he needed it amputated...

| don't even feed the rope to them, put the coil down and let the boat pull away and uncoil it. if you did it right there won't be any knots or tangles |

| Brit Rider, i don't do that just incase you acctully hit the rider wiht the handle, and it there is a knot, it gets yanked really tight then. |

my bad, the story goes is that the guy that lost his arm was rolling the rope back up, not uncoiling it. makes more sense now. _________________ Wake Forest University |

| Us too. We throw ours out and drive the boat around. I never even thought about unrolling it around your arm. |

I don't do crap, the rider deals with all his own stuff!
Board, vest, rope, soap you name it.
When we switch out riders, you put your stuff away and the other guy gets his stuff ready.
I personally whip out my line (handle in hand) so I'm kink free before I even drop into the water. _________________ PEACE

| holy crap that skireel is $875. That thing looks awesome. Often times I've wanted an extra 2-3 feet but not a full 5 but I'll buy a 2.5' section if it's gonna cost $875 |

I was trying to get a rope knot out of a rope last week (while the rider was holding on and the boat was pulling away) and the knot wrapped around the tip of my little finger and busted some blood vessels. It hurt at the time but a couple of hours later it was fine.
So it's better to just throw the rope out into the water behind the boat and slowly pull away from the rider. _________________ So, I've got that goin' for me...which is nice! |

| just throught the rope on the floor as you pull it in and then when the rider takes the handle with him it will pull the rope out no knots no problems. |

I've been hit with many-a-handle, and it's not that painful of an experience... |

wow, all I have to say is that some people must just be stupid. I don't understand why throwing a handle is so difficult or why pulling it in is hard either.
Whether it is an extension cord, cable, rope, or line of any kind, you should never wrap it around elbow and hand. It kinks and twists the line. If you just loop it, it is much less likely to kink, twist, or knot.
People who are responsible or just plain have a clue don't have problems with this kind of thing. _________________
