air, breathing, shouldn't really have to think about it.
remember to stay on edge through the wake and push you legs out, and stand tall. _________________ Some female cows have horns, but you wouldn't really know anything about that now would you? |

yea, you asked what's the best way to get air, I would use the mouth or nose and however many lungs you have. I personally use 2 lungs.
(Progressive edge is the best way for wakeboarding. There is no better way or everyone would be doing it.) _________________ Wakeboard/Waterski/Kneeboard/Ride Random Objects

| I think another good way to get air mentally is to relax while you're out there and take your time edging into the wake. |

| Since everyone is being silly in this forum the best way to get big air is to jump off of a really tall building with a wakeboard and then fall down onto a trampoline and get skyed back up to the sky or whatever... |

Hmm
Get a oxygen tank and shove it up your nose. As for wakeboarding, it might be a pain to have a oxygen tank on you though. And if it falls off, your nose goes with it lol |

There are many threads on this question in wakeboarder.com
Big air is really easy - the less you do the more air you will get for some reason
Cut out to the right so the rope is at 45 degrees. Next do nothing - no edge no nothing. When you feel the boat start to naturally pull you back towards the wake then start to gradually dig your heels in and start your edge. Keep the handle in against your front hip. As you go up the wake stand really tall. You will get a pop that will just throw you straight up. You should be able to get 4 or 5 feet up even without a tower/skylon or a big wake - trust me
If you cut out to 45degrees and come in towards the wake like a racing car, you will not get any pop. All you will do is race towards the wake and go up it like a ramp. you will get up about 2 feet maybe and will land somewhere way out in the flats. This is not what I call big air.

I discovered Big Air (well, for me) today. It was great. The same time I stopped trying to go big, i went big. Took me a second to realize why I went big when I wasn't trying, then it was obvoius. I used to cut waaay out, then haul ass to the wake. Well I think i was getting a ton of speed, then "flattening" out before I got to the wake. When i went for a non w2w jump, I was only a few feet away from teh wake, but still cut as hard as I was used to. This made the most aggressive acceleration happen as I was going up the wake. It launched me 5-6 ft in the air, when before I was doing good to get 3-4 ft.
Mainly as said before, less work = more air. I just started to relax, didn't cut out as far, and cut harder later. I ended up higher in the air, more in control, and quite dumbfounded as to how i got up there, it was sweet though.
So good luck. _________________ Drive it like you stole it. |
