I started wakeboarding 4 summers ago and split my head open on my first wake to wake jump. It took 15 stiches to get it back together and I was out for the summer. I guess when i jumped I came down in the flats and my foot came out of the back binding and my board spun around and my head came down on it and broke the board and my head.. lol . But anyways I stopped boarding till this summer and after I saw a tourney on my lake I decided to start up again. Wasnt long untill I landed a wake to wake and then some heelside grabs.. then a heelside 180...shifty w/ grab..and a couple other easier heelside tricks. Then one day I picked up my balls and decided a 3 and landed it. I was stoked!!..Then i decided to pick my balls up again the following week and landed a backroll in 4 attempts. ALL THIS AND I HADNT EVEN LEARNED TO JUMP TOESIDE LOL!!!...So my friends and I went out on my boat and I began some toeside 1 wakers...THE DAY BEFORE MY FIRST TOURNEY!!!!.... Even though i could do a backroll and 3's which are intermediate tricks...i was forced to do novice becuase i couldnt jump toeside....well the day of the tourney I just picked my balls up agian...and during my run I took it huge...wake to wake toeside 180!!! I WON !!!!! with a couple of other tricks...I WAS STOKED AGAIN!!...After the tourney which was on july 31st... I went out everyday the following week and caught myself up on toeside...now im able to do everything and a frontroll!.....Here it is the first weekend in august just a week after the tourney...I MEAN I JUST GOT OUT OF THE WATER !!!!! AFTER LANDING MY FIRST RALEY!!!!!!......Got pics too!!!....The moral of this story...is to everyone who wants to do tricks.....PICK YOUR BALLS UP AND DO IT!!! THIS IS COMING FROM A MAN WHOS HEAD WAS OPENED UP BY A CORNER OF A WAKEBOARD!!!!! later |

| Yeah when i did a novice division in the tourney I won the tourney with a toeside one wake 180 because i couldnt jump toeside then....then a ollie 180 ..into a heelside wake to wake.... then i cross the wake and did a w2w tailgrab...then i did a ollie 180 to goofy foot then did a switchstance 180 only one wake then i did a heelside 180 with a grab but I fell. Then did a heelside w2w shifty...then i tried a toeside w2w but i fell .......then i only had one fall left and i was going back to the crowd and decided to go big so i tried a heelside w2w 540......actually almost landed it but i didnt hope this helps later |

| ar230border, about your advice on a backroll.....start by doing a double up but not a normal one....do a slower more compact double up....just tell the driver...act like he was driving around a normal sized house making his circle only as big as the house....and come in perpendicular....then when you get the timing down come into the wake heelside and let go with your left hand as you leave the wake....and throw yourself back and just hang on...trust me you wont get hurt.....and as long as you do that you'll land it and be stoked...then you move to doing the same thing when the boat is just driving straight |

| jbbpganx, I just noticed how you mentioned to let go with your left hand as you leave the wake. It sounded more like you described a goofy-footed person's tantrum. Maybe I am wrong and you like to let go with your hand on backrolls, but I would recommend hangin on with both for the backroll. jbbpganx, Not trying to bash you at all, just thought I would tell you how it sounded from my POV. GOOD LUCK! |

| oh no problem thanks for you comment.... i know wut ya mean...not bashing me at all...just the advice i was giving the dude was to let go only when learning....i found that helped me to get the rotation down...and then once you got that. down.... hang on with both hands....just didnt finish...thanx though for looking out for me |

| thanks for the comments guys.....thanks for giving me props on my raley! That was the turning point in my wakeboarding "career" if thats what you want to call it....im working my ass off to try some nice flashy tricks.... a hurricane came through this weekend but i was able to go out on thursday of last week... MY NEWEST TRICK .....PLEASE GIVE ME SOME COMMENTS I WANNA KNOW IF THIS TRICK WOULD BE BAD ASS OR NOT! ...well ive landed it once....and only once...and took a lot of crashes for trying it too but its a heelside shifty to backside 180 landing baller aka with the rope between my legs....my friends say its looks pretty hardcore and smooth on my tries!...only my dad was able to see me land one...but when you wreck damn that stuff hurts it ripps you straight back onto the back of your head lol....but please give me some feedback on this trick! |

work on bein rounded out....noone likes to see a person that can do a raley but cant do a ts 180 ya know...congrats again, im out. _________________ Visit www.myspace.com/alecperkins to listen to my music! |
