I am looking at buying a X-5 because I don't want to spend an extra 11,000 on a x-star. I used to own a Malibu Sunsetter didn't like the wake. My buddy owns a x-star and I love his wake but what about the x-5 what kind of wake does it put off. Going to have the fat seat and tube sac in with some tractor weights.

The wake is weak compared to the Sunsetter you owned. How come you did nto like the wake? Did you weight it at all? I was able to get a very nice wake out of the sunsetter I had. My friend had an X-9 and we always went on trips together. Weighted the same, people like mine over his every time.

The X-5 is a ski boat dressed up as a wakeboard boat.

I also love the x-2 wake and was also wondering if you could get close to it with a 205 or x5 untill yesterday when i looked at the post show me your wake there is a x-5 wake w/fat seat nice shape but small compared to the x-star i want that wake that gets better and bigger the more you load it but not for 30,000 + for a used baby 87 2001 paid for

I think that if you buy a X5 then you will be wanting to sell it within a year. Buy a used Xstar if you can't afford a new one (x2)!

We have an X-5 with an fat seat in the back, it has an nice wake (i've never wakeboard behind an xstar or anything like that) so I like it.
But without weight in the boat is has a bad wake.

It all depends on how much you weight the x-5.... Remember the x-5 has the same hull as the x-2 it is just 1 ft shorter. If you put 2500 lb + in the boat the wake is awesome. I would take the x-2 over the x-5, but that is if you are willing to pay the extra coin. The best wake that I have ever ridden behind is an x-2 with 3300 lb in it, but a heavily weighted x-5 will get the job done for sure!!!

I think MasterCraft quit Making the X-5! That should be a pretty could indicator of its success in sales! I cannot believe your Sunsetter did not have a decent wake! Oh well-from your impending optons:I like the X-2 and the X-Star!

i have a prostar 195, its the same as the x5. If you weight the sht out of it, it will get the job done, but i would like to have an xstar. My wake pic is in my profile. I have about 2500-3000lbs in it. Its pretty good
