are you taking about weighting the front of the boat down as well??? if you are here is the reason...... If you have all the weight in the boat all in the back, then the boat wont plane out as good and you will be forced to go to a higher speed to plane the boat out. This means wakeboarding at a faster speed than usual and the wake will be the same as it was without all the weight because the faster speed washes the wake out. Hope this helped.

okay that was a dumb comment to make...the wake would get a little smaller if the ballast was filled all the way and weight up front Rolling Eyes

anything on how to make the wake more vert? i want to work on mobes and stuff and my dad is probably getting sick of turning the boat a little bit to make it more steep

not smaller than it would be with the ballast only half full.

have you tried it?

the size of the wake isn't completely dependent on how much weight is in the BACK of the boat, it has to do with how much of the hull is under water. And having to go faster to plane because of having all the weight in the back CAN make the wake smaller, or just plain bad.

Just try it and see.

Ballast just sinks the hull into the water so that the hull displaces more watter, IE bigger wake, usually the weight in the front is for 1.) to keep the wake from curling over and 2.) to make it firmer (in my personal experiance).

the weight in the front makes the wake narrower and helps it get on plane.

What? Weight in the front does not detrmine the with of your wake, your boats hull does, the with of the wake will not change with anything but speed...

as far as it getting on plane quicker, i dont think thats really true either, beacause putting weight in the bow is accctually causeing the boat to move more weight up as the boat planes, so i dont see how it would help... seems like if anything it would get on plane slower...

Too much wieght in back=washy wake and boat will have hard time getting on a plane.
Too much in the front=flat wake with not much hieght.

Dragon - Imagine the hull of the boat like a see-saw pivoting about the centre. If there is too much weight in the back the boat will simply lift its bow and try and pust the lake in front of it. Sure if you have a powerful enough motor it will eventually climb out of the hole. If you weight the boat evenly IE same weight up front as at back (this includes fuel people and ballast) then the hull will perform as it is supposed to and come up out nice and parallel.

Talk to any of the pro riders and they will ask for even weighting.
