is this right or wrong?

alright, i go boarding with a bunch of friends all the time. theyre all encouraging me to just cut out as far as i can then just go at the wake so that i can clear it. i tried that and i can do it, but thats not progressive. in detention they talk about taking it slow and keeping it in control so that you learn easier. so should i just go for it like my friends tell me to or should i keep trying to find that progressive edge that im looking for? thanks a lot.

both, different kind of edgings are for different tricks. Progressive edging is one you really need to know though, if you look a few threads down there is a post with the title progressive edge, read that, it will give you really good explanations.
